I deliberately didn't post on this morning's thread. In fat, I didn't even read it. Skimmed it at first, shut the window.0

I vaguely remember reading an almighty shouting match on the bankruptcy board some time back where some normally 'huggy-kissy' sorts were extremely vicious when some posters disagreed with the 'party line' on the morality of spending like there's no tomorrow then going BR.
Yeah, I have to stay away from posting on the DFW board. The annoying thing is that I feel like I could probably help people with advice and so on but there's too much self pity and self righteousness.0 -

I do wish people would stop saying that. The dead have no cause of action for defamation!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

How I agree Generali. If you say - stop spending anything other than basic subsistance - then you are going to get posts complaining that you are being beastly.
I have great respect for those who work hard to pay their debts and live very close to the bone - that is the only way to deal with it on anything like a credible basis.
Back to the deleted thread - some those posting about how awful the op was were those who post the most offensive posts on the board. - DOH!0 -
the post this morning was completely wrong and in very poor taste.
it should not be defended in any way.
defending your freedom of opinion can be done in better ways than defending a post that was in such poor taste. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -

But their familys do.0 -
AFAIAC, it is not about defending the post, it is about taking the post for or against and arguing the point rather than squealing to the mods. If the thread was taken out as soon as the first squealer saw it, Dud would never have had the opportunity to change his mind, which he did with very good grace, much in contrast to the approach of the squealers.
No the OP bottled it as he knew he was in trouble and many people complained.
How can you sit there and defend such a bad taste post.
There is free speech and being sick. The guy’s comments were sick and undefendable in my opinion.
Do most of you guys/ girls on this forum feel that sites that inspire terrorism and racial hate should be left on the net?
The post had nothing to do with house prices whatsoever.
PS I would be worried if he only knew it was wrong by people on here complaining!0 -

Now the thread has been taken down at the request on the "hello kitty" brigade, does it mean that the bloke isn't dead anymore?
No but his family is still alive.
Let’s hope you feel the same if it was your Parent, Brother or Son.
If one of you could honestly find it funny if it was a member of your family please let me know. But until someone comes on here and says so I think the thread was rightly removed.
It’s not being soft deploring glee in someone’s suicide.0 -

Fair point. However, the fact that the victim cannot defend himself only serves to make the thread more reprehensible.
It was right to be taken down and the perpetrator would undoubtedly agree.
