    But their familys do.

Their families only have a cause of action if they are themselves libelled, or slandered - not on behalf of the dead. A family can't have a cause of action for defamation either, it is an individual of a family who may do. Or some other legal entity (a family isn't a legal person). The deceaseds' estates have no cause of action in libel either.

No but his family is still alive.
Let’s hope you feel the same if it was your Parent, Brother or Son.
If one of you could honestly find it funny if it was a member of your family please let me know. But until someone comes on here and says so I think the thread was rightly removed.
It’s not being soft deploring glee in someone’s suicide.

Well, I'm not going to say I find it roll on the floor hilarious but when people close to me are slated in public it has made me roll my eyes and occasionally given me a giggle at some misinterpretations. That's very different from death though.

That said, we've had a few deaths in the last few years and I don't think there has been one funeral where some rather poor taste, but admittedly funny, witisms or jokes have been made in speeches or eulogies.

I read but did not post on the original thread. I felt that the responses had, in the majority, a subtext more sinister than the original crassness. I appreciated Dudleyboy's apology. If noone saw the irony of the tone of the responses complaining about offensive tone then I'm, to put it mildly, very surprised.
  • I missed it but when places start to pander to the whingers and whiners, then the W&W ers start to feel some power and carry on and get worse.

Like those who sit through some dirty film on channel 4 pulling one off then phone up to complain about it.

    Personally nothing bothers me

    Did not know that.

But they would have a case for false claims on the thread today.
    Still a sick post however.

What about his claim that he was depresed himself and that is why he posted it?
I still find it mad that people defend it!

PS Irony in resonses! such as? I did not see any irony as their was only posts saying he was an idiot and sick. Not much irony in that.

I don't see how any of us here can know one way or the other someone's medical position. I am not a medical professional, why would I try and second guess someone's medical condition by dissecting their posts?

Well I know people who have suffered with depression (my mom for one and my mother-in-law). I have never met one who takes glee in other people giving in to their dark thoughts (as they feel suicidal some times)
It was just to discredit another posters comment as they said they had suffered with depression and did not like the post.

Although his original post was somewhat unsavoury, I do believe the thread had turned itself around and the subject matter was then being discussed in a more sensitive manner.

The OP himself, apologised for his insensitivity (blimey too long a word at this time of night!) and changed his original post.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Well, unfortunately, you'll just have to accept that you are too blinkered to see irony.

An irony is that your manner of approaching the issue is actually more worthy of complaint than Dud's post, because you lack the grace to accept that he retracted and you are still going on about it.

Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

Fact or opinion on your part? And would you know the difference?
