Thread taken down

Pathetic how some people here take a dislike to someone expressing an opinion [which they later retract] and go grizzling to the mods to get it taken down. There was no need. It just gives too much leverage to censorious people who are not able to debate coherently.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?

Was it the thread about the credit-crunch banker who killed themselves?

    I have to agree.

dud's OP was in poor taste, but he apologised afterwards.

it seems, though, that he wasn't the only one to have gotten out of bed on the wrong side.

a fair amount of moral indignation followed. all grist for the mill, as they say.

but to take the post down? no.

anyone who took offence is quite capable of challenging/ignoring.

squealing to the mods is, quite frankly, a little pathetic.

  • The problem was that after he had edited his original, potentially libellous and extremely bad taste post, it had already been quoted by others.

    Welll done the mods.

Well, it must have been a terrible thread. I mean it was considered too bad for the MoneySavers Arms, which is where we usually put our rubbish.

On a personal note, I must say I haven't been so shocked since the last thread that. er. shocked me. There was controversy, banter, anger, debate, disagreement, off colour jokes - I mean really - and all this allowed on a public forum.

I hope you will all have the decency to refrain from contentious issues in future and pepper your posts with <<<hugs>>> and kissing smilies more frequently.

mod: Don't blame us - we have to read this rubbish. Sometimes we have to make a call. And if you keep impersonating mod's Mewbie, you're the next one who's gonna be p*ssing through a straw.

Actually, I suspect that the problem is that the world of <<<hugs>>> is at core extremely intolerant of people with whom they disagree.

And it's over to you then Gorgeous George.....

I pity the poor sod who had to wash down the train.

Now the thread has been taken down at the request on the "hello kitty" brigade, does it mean that the bloke isn't dead anymore?

I vaguely remember reading an almighty shouting match on the bankruptcy board some time back where some normally 'huggy-kissy' sorts were extremely vicious when some posters disagreed with the 'party line' on the morality of spending like there's no tomorrow then going BR.

Do you have a link? Were the indignant posters for or against doing a Viv (Nichols)?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

    Excellent !!

Normally it is all pats and bleating, but there has been a guy recently who has moaned about how easy it is, and people don't suffer like he had to. Along those lines anyhow.

Did that bell-end max my whatsit get called for what he was?
