thank you for your kind words......
oh...i think definatley sweets...in fact i have a packet of vampire fangs already half gone!!:rotfl:
had a bit of a result this morning...was talking to dd about getting a breadmaker and she told me her bf mum has one that she doesn't use...one phone call later and i am going to be the proud new owner!!!:j she doesn't want anything for it but i will give her a few quid so that she can get something for herself.....so, shopping budget will not be as small as intended this week...going to stock up on flour and spend a reasonable amount of time next week making loads of dough for pizzas and rolls for the freezer....mmm pizza!!:D0 -
Well done on the breadmaker! I love homemade bread, and they are sooooo easy to use. I have lost the twiddly bit that mixes the dough, so I can't use it! Boo!

hi folks....i have a confession to make.....i went to the funeral yesterday and have seriously fallen off the no-smoking wagon.....i know that i shouldn't have done, but to be honest, i just felt so abismal it seemed like the only way to get through it....i am feeling pretty crappy at the moment....i haven't slept much (hence the post at this ridiculous hour) and can't quite get my head around this kids death.....i know it will be okay soon but to be honest, at the moment, it just feels that life is s**t. I am sorry to vent on here, but previously when things like this have happened, i have ended up going seriously off the rails with spending etc. and i really don't want that to happen again so perhaps getting this down on here will prevent it.....
shopgirl...have you looked on ebay for spares for your breadmaker? when i was looking on there yesterday for prices i am sure that i saw paddles for sale....it may be worth a mooch....;)0 -
Young people's funerals really are the saddest thing - don't beat yourself up about a few ciggies for goodness sake.
Have a dodgy hug & hope you feel better soon :grouphug:xxA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

The funeral for anyone of such an age always seems so difficult, with all the potential now removed; however, if you can see a positive side to the friends present and their closeness in this shared tragedy, perhaps you can push the cigs aside?
I am sure your daughter would want you to look forward to the positive things you are doing, and the possibilities opened up once MF, so I hope you can avoid falling back into the old ways. Maybe you could get involved in voluntary work or similar to "do your bit"; I get a lot from such activity I undertake in my community, although there are times when it seems to be too demanding....
Best wishes.0 -
thank you everyone for all your support with the funeral thing:kisses:
....sorry i was miserable, it just threw me for a couple of days, but i do feel better now and i haven't blown loads of cash. i will get back on the no smoking wagon within the next week and minimise the damage.....
thanks for the suggestion of voluntary work stuart...unfortunately, i work with people with substance misues issues as a day job and also counsel teenagers with a variety of issues in my spare time so don't think that i could cope with any additional work!!!
bit of bad news on the breadmaker....they couldn't find all the bits to it, so looks like i won't get it until next week when they have been located... so no gorgeous smells coming from my kitchen this morning.......
on the good side though, caramelized onion chutney ...i bought some from a really nice deli about a month or so ago and it was absolutely fab...but at £2.29 for a 310g jar  which i used in less than a week it seemed a tad expensive!! (not to mention the deli is a 50 mile round trip!!) sooo.....
i bought a sack of onions last week and decided to make my own version of it yesterday...result...3kg of the most amazingly scrumptious onion chutney i have ever tried at a cost of approx £4:T :T :T ....i am soooo impressed with myself, i hadn't got a clue how it would turn out so was very relieved....only down point now is that between us dh & i have eaten almost half a jar already!!!!
bought and laid the new floor, looks nice so will probably get similar ceramic tiles when this one goes...and we know that it will with the hounds from hell!!:rotfl: am spending today cleaning the house as ds new gf is coming over for dinner today....needed the excuse as house has been tragically ignored over the past week and is now seriously scary!!
anyhoo...hope you all had a good weekend....i will check your diaries once i have done some housework...the clock is ticking....:eek:0 -
Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Well done on the chutney too...can you freeze it?
Shame about the breadmaker too..thanks for the advice on my paddle! I checked ebay, but they had nothing for my machine - however, I did find the correct one on the company's own website, and was only a couple of pound, so I'll be baking as soon as I receive it!:D
Hope the 'big meeting' with the new gf goes OK.MBNA - [STRIKE]£7068.60 [/STRIKE] £7060.00 Egg - 1422.35 A&L - [STRIKE]£249.32[/STRIKE] £215.00Loan - £13279.50 :rolleyes:0 -

Good to hear of the improved sit rep, and that you already do so much in your community.frazzmunch wrote: »i bought a sack of onions last week and decided to make my own version of it yesterday...result...3kg of the most amazingly scrumptious onion chutney i have ever tried at a cost of approx £4:T :T :T ....i am soooo impressed with myself, i hadn't got a clue how it would turn out so was very relieved....only down point now is that between us dh & i have eaten almost half a jar already!!!!
I must admit to some concern..... just how big is the jar, much less than 1kg I hope????
Actually, I will divulge my upbringing was in South Gloucestershire and so you have now caused me to think of a sweet large raw onion with really strong vintage cheddar, a hunk of freshly baked bread and butter what could be better... now I'll need to have a snack!0 -
don't panic stuart...it is spread between six jars!!
shopgirl...can't freeze the chutney, but it will keep for many moons in the jars...not that it will be around long enough!!!
spent all of yesterday cleaning the house...finally feel that i am not a disgusting slovenly trout now!! the dinner with the new gf of ds was a strange sort of affair....she only stayed for a couple of hours because she wasn't feeling too well bless her, unfortunately she had very little appetite and had to only have a tiny slice of chocolate cheesecake....leaving lots for me!!!!
dd & bf were also here but dd really not well yesterday, she had the sickness bug that has been doing the rounds...poor little thing, saved her some choccie cheesecake for when she is back to her usual self....the worst is over now though so i don't think it will be long!!:j
today i am having a rest after yesterdays mad clean up...there is plenty of food in the fridge so no cooking required for todays dinner and other than a few loads of washing the house is good....
less than 20 days left now to my first official op:T ...i was hoping that i would have a bit extra left over this month to put to it, but have let oh loose with the shopping over the last couple of days and my budget has been shot.. think i had better keep him away from the shops in future!!!!
hope you are all well, will be catching up with your diaries later xx0
