    .How old are your babies??

My boys are 12 and 14 - but eldest is 15 soon....*whisper* They treat me like a princess but I'm not sure I deserve it, though I do run around after them 24/7 so I suppose I do. LOL:rotfl:

I am sure you do deserve it...they would let you know if you didn't!!!;)

Well, i have had an interesting couple of days....dh and i had the mother of all conversations over the weekend and we have decided that we are going to try to get rid of our mortgage in just over three years!!

We were looking originally at overpaying enought to bring it to an eight year period, but i want to redo the house before i get too old to cope with the building work!! So the plan is, pay off the mortgage and save enough for the major renovations for the house within the eight years....ambitious? definately...!!

This is going to mean an enormous commitment from us both....we will need to get part time jobs, sell all the stuff we have lying around the house, cut every penny possible from our budget and raise as much cash as possible as soon as we can.....

i have sat down with the babies and told them what we want to do...they are both on board and know why we are trying to acheive it....we have to earn an extra salary between us so the kids are going to have to pitch in much more than they currently do and we all have to have some major lifestyle changes if we are to reach our goal....

Its terrifying and exciting at the same time....we have spent the past few years just kicking around and thinking that we will get there in the end...but i have decided that the end needs to be an awful lot quicker!!! :D

Its not an impossible task but it really is going to take all that we have to acheive it...:o Even if we do not manage to repay the full amount, i still want to have made a really MAJOR impact within the timeframe...I may be mad but i genuinely think that we can acheive it...and i am going to do whatever it takes to do so...:j

just hoping now that our provider also drops the interest rate...that will help a lot!!

So, wish me luck...any pointers will be welcome!!:D

Very best wishes on this undertaking. I think the only pointers I can offer are to ensure you have good data, so record absolutely everything you are spending, go through all with a fine comb to review and perhaps plan one family holiday in 18months time to give you all a "reward" at the half-way stage?
