  • thank you all so much for your kind words of support....:D

still off the cigs...have started to feed the pig with the extra cash and haven't actually killed anyone yet although i feel that i came close to having to find a divorce lawyer!!:rotfl: the kids have also been staying out of my way but i think i am getting to the stage now where they can approach without fear of violence!!

..it's a good job that i am only like this for the first three days otherwise i think that i would have had to move out....

still looking good on the op (or should i say isa) front....hoping that i will also end up with some extra cash at the end of the month from my grocery budget to fling at it too....

i have been really good over the past couple of weeks and managed to eat predominantly from the storecupboard and freezer..infact, i have re-visited some of the food from my childhood and am having panakalti this evening...haven't had it for years and am really looking forward to it!! lets hope it doesn't disappoint...;)

i am joining the nsd challenge in november...am going to aim high and see how i do....:D

Well done frazz, each day will become easier and easier.

    What the monkies are panakalti?!!
  • its an old northern dish....cut up some corned beef, add some chopped onions and some cooked carrots, top with finely sliced potatoes, pour over gravy and cook for about 40 minutes....may sound foul but tastes absolutely fab!!! or at least it did when i last had it about 20 years ago...so hoping for the same result this time...:rotfl:

mmmmmmmmm lovely, we love corned beef pie - corned beef with onion and potatoes in pastry, great with veg or baked beans.

Another one with corned beef is corned beef hash patties (or "Corned beef fishcakes" as a friends daughter used to call them!) - mash the beef, mix with mashed potato and then fry gently until brown and crispy on the outside. Delicious!

Glad your new non-smoking life is still going well Frazz - well done to you for getting through those first tough days without murdering family or friends!

  • hi all....panakalti was gorgeous...no leftovers as my dd decided it was one of the things she loves and ate enough for your average rugby team!!:rotfl:

mmm...corned beef pie and hash...lovely!! i haven't eaten corned beef for about ten years but will have to indulge more often i think!!

going to spend the day cleaning and catching up on the paperwork....would rather be doing anything else though if i am honest...wondering if the flylady thread might help motivate me in the future...i seem to spend half of my life cleaning up after the puppies...why don't dogs come with self-cleaning feet???

hope you are all well...going to go and catch up with your diaries now....:D
  • happy halloween!!!!:D

well, i have to pay out again for another new floor....puppies have well and truly destroyed the hallway again... in thirteen months i have had eight new floors (this will be the 9th!!) they are driving me nuts!! This is the last time i buy lino...the next one will be a tiled floor and then they won't have a chance!!:rotfl:

i am going to buy it today as i am really determined to stick to my nsd target for november....also going to do my grocery shopping today and don't intend to spend anything more until the following saturdays shopping....

have to take my dd to a funeral this afternoon... am quite apprehensive in some ways as i am also taking a couple of her friends and don't know how they will be....it certainly puts things in perspective when you are attending the funeral of a 19 year old kid......
