    Hi all

Great idea about the bike ride FFM, unfortunately I won't be able to join in as OH and I are going to have a 'gap' year (hehe, yes at our age!) and we'll be travelling in Europe then. :D

We've been thinking about this for some time and gone from 'yes we'll do it' to 'no way' so many times, but we've now made the decision. We're throwing caution to the wind, giving up our jobs, letting our house, and becoming travelling gypsies, hopefully setting off after Christmas if all goes to plan!

We're going to have plenty to do between now and then, as we have a house full of stuff to store/sell/freecycle/bin, not to mention a pond full of fish and 36 houseplants to re-home. (Anyone want a 7ft tall areca palm?) It's obvious why people say that if you don't go travelling when you're young, you never will - at 19 you haven't accumulated masses of material goods.

I'm still up for a meeting if it's sometime before Christmas, although October is pretty much out of the question.

lois, im very jealous!!! I would LOVE to go away for say 6 months or so. I know so many people who have done it and the photos and experiences they have had have been amazing. Im glad youre going, not being morbid or anything here but my fathers dream has always been to go to canada and he will never make it now because of his car accident. You never know what is around the corner and you need to do these things as and when the desire/opportunity comes!

Although saying that, here i am wishing i could go yet i feel that i cant because of matt. Couldnt leave him, and he couldnt leave his job when hes only been in it for just over a year.

But, i will hopefully do a you and go when my children have grown up! Have a great time, you will have to post regular photos and pop into an internet cafe and say hi!

Talking of matt, the opening for police men opens tomorrow. He is going to apply for that so fingers crossed for him!

FFM: Cost ya :p Although if its in london i would get the train. So i would train it with you
  • Vix, wish Matt good luck.

The start is in London, so train will be good for the start. The finish is at Hurst park, I'll get OH and the Little Monkeys to come and get me - I don't suppose there will be a convenient train home from there - plus I'll be wrecked by then. You sure you don't fancy cycling too? Was your last experience really that bad?

LL, that sounds great, make sure you stop off at internet cafes and keep us up with where you are and what you are doing. It will be a bit like a gap year for all of us.

    FFM :)

  • Can I join in the monthly challenge for october pleese?
I am trying to do points counting to loose weight, but on my own and not part of any branded diet membership, so I struggle with motivation at times. It would be a lot easier with the help of other MSE members on here. Currently at 11st 9, want to loose 5lbs by end Oct.
    Thanks :)
  • Woot! Lost 3.1 lbs this week :D really pleased :)

    LL ~ Sounds fab!!

Lisap ~ 5lbs in a month is certainly achievable! Welcome to the thread :)

  • welcome lisap. hope you like the thread- you'll find lots of suprt on here. and also smut. sorry.

aaawwwww bails. I'm SO broddy for a kitting. OH will not countenance it though - he hates them and says its not fair to knowingly bring something into the house he will dislike and not love. I think he would be won over, but don';t want to take the chance.

Went to NAndos last night and was VERY good. i think. Picked all the skin off the chicken, had ratatouille and only a few chips, finished off with frozen yoghurt. mmmmm. Then went to see Tropic Thunder. Absolutely hysterical, and there's a casting in the credits thats makes you go 'NO! that was XXXXXX?!?!?!?!' IF you like Ben Stiller movies you'll love it.

    Have a great day everyone,
    Leyla, xx
