Although i'd love to go to africa or somwhere and help build a school or help in some way. I really hate giving my money to a charity and i have no clue if its just going towards making those pens that get handed out ect. I'd rather fly over there and give a family £50 worth of something than a charity it.
You can do voluntary work in poor countries - have a look here and here - all you need to do is sub-let your flat, get Matt to suspend his application to the police for a year and off you go!

Are you talking about me?:rotfl: :rotfl:
I have tried every which way with white bread, not having it not buying it freezing it rather than eating it, having cold toast, waiting until it is old and stale so it is not as nice, you name it have done it and what happens? When someone mentions white bread my mouth won't shut:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
vix...when i came back from kenya last year i looked into volunteering in an orphanage there, decided that there was no way i could afford it though. but it is something i would like to do in the future, when i can save up for everything and in the meantime i joined one particular orphanges mailing list and since they are actually out there raising the children and helping in the community i occasionally donate to them (last time was building a water pump for one of their local villages). i couldnt find any other places that didnt charge what to me seemed rediculously high amounts for food and board.
victory have you tried abreadmaker and making your own? i find its far nicer than shop bread, but its also less sweet, and the effort of slicing it thin ish then trying to eat what is still a very thick slice of bread means i never manage more than two slices at a time.0 -
Morning all
I'm off to collect some boxes today, so some serious packing is going to start! It shouldn't take long, the house is looking decidedly empty already.
It's good to hear that other people have foods they can't stop eating - mine is butter. If I've got any proper butter in the fridge I continually think about things I can eat with it, and the simplest things like cream crackers, taste marvellous with butter. And toast dripping with butter...As a result we only have Flora light in the fridge - it's palatable but doesn't have the same effect!
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone - it is the dreaded weekend, the time I normally struggle with the plan and undo all the good I have done in the week:mad::o.
Today will be different, I have girded my loins and my resolve!:p I won't promise about tomorrow yet - one day at a time!:rotfl:
So today I am going to have:
Breakfast - Not long out of bed so just going to have fruit and yogurt with my scan brans this morning (free + heb)
Lunch - Bacon and eggs with mushrooms and tomoatoes - free
afternoon snackies - optifit yogurt with berries
Dinner - Toad in the hole made with 3 low fat sausages and 227g jacket potato mashed (my portion will count as (5.5 syns plus 1 heb for the potato) served with carrots (free)
evening snack - home made cinnamon swirl scone - 10 syns
That will make a total of 15.5 syns
What do you think?
