hello all. long time reader/lurker, first time posting on this board. just thought i would say hi as i think i am one of the few blokes on here. aged 31 and from lincolnshire. since june 1st i have managed to loose 3stone - and i am really pleased with that - pretty much 2 pound a week i think - although weight loss has really slowed recently - due i think to two reasons - 1, me being slack, and 2 cos i have lost a lot already. would be great to get rid of another half a stone by the time we visit the in laws just before xmas - so am being really good now!
may even be tempted to post some photos if you tempt me....0 -
Hi john, welcome! We're very friendly in here
Just playing with some numbers, I'm only 0.58 away from having an 'Ideal' BMI! The upper limit is 25, and I'm 25.58
I only need to lose 4 lbs and for the first time since I was a teenager I will not be 'Overweight'!!
I started my weight loss journey with an 'Obese' BMI of 36.24 and now I'm on the cusp of being 'Ideal'

YES!
We're sailing on 29th December, Portsmouth to Caen, then heading south via Nantes, Bordeaux, via the Pyrennees to Barcelona, arriving in La Manga on 6th January, where we're planning to stay for a month as it's the driest bit of Spain in the winter. After that we'll continue along the south coast of Spain, to the Algarve, then north to Lisbon, across to Madrid, then back to the South of France, continuing East to Northern Italy. We're going to take our time, so it could be April by the time we get to Italy. We 'did' Venice, Florence and Rome last September, and although I wasn't that impressed with Florence, I liked the countryside and decided I wanted to go back and spend more time there. We both adored Venice so we'll be paying it another visit so that we can commute via vaporetto again!
It's only 34 days until we go, and we want to fit in a practice run in the UK before then, to be sure we've got everything we'll need. We've also decided we'll move into the caravan before Christmas so that we can really get to work to empty and clean the house. There's still lots to do.

I can't believe how jealous, envious and how much i wanna swap lives with you right now!! My friend is off travelling for their honeymoon, and i would love to go around the world with matt and see things.
Go to sorrento and the almalfi coast, its the most beautiful place ever. The men are all good looking, the coast you just get lost in. Its so gorgeous.
Tell me its ok to go when youre older, i cant die without travelling. I feel a bit i should do it when im young rather than when im older. My dad says do what you can now cos you never know what will happen to you when you get older. My parents have dreams to go to south africa and canada and they'll die never have done it because of his accident. Im getting morbid! But with matt in the police he retires at some silly age, so im thinking of maybe then, or before i really settle down and want 1,00000 babies0 -
Lovelly dog marion, his fur is such a cute colour!
I've been ill the past week. Silly bug on monday that mum, me, matt and dad have all had. Two guesses that we somehow got it when we went out for a meal. Sadly i had a cold on top, so ive been in bed, on the sofa and not really eaten since then. So if i havent lost anything it will be pants, as this could be the 2nd pound ive ever lost on this forumbe it fake or not ha.
I've just had a letter through saying that i am council tax exempt from now untill june 2009. I finish in december. Would anything be illegal here? Technically my course does finish in december, and im paying untill december, but the course itself is considered 2 years long and im entering my 2nd year.
Im off now, parents and matt have been nagging me for the past hour and a half to do my dissertation. The only time they ever have, and its the only time i feel i wanna have a little nap. booooo.
see you all.0 -
Thanks for the pros and cons of SW peeps:D it obviously works for millions otherwise they would go into administration like poor faithful woolworths:rotfl:
but it is just me, I am a binger, need to say that as I AM and always will be, more than just greedy bored or hungry all of that is completely different and left to myself I can be cruel to me, my diabetes , my insulin, I mean take the other day, I sat with a load of food actually talking out loud to myself reminding myself if I ate it I would be feeling ill, numbers would shoot up, that it was not worth it etc just telling myself off and what happened, I ate the lot:rolleyes: so back to SW if I am given the amount of food that SW allows there is potential there to go OTT and not bother whether I am hungry/full/need it/want it just because the brain knows I can have it...party time:rotfl: :rotfl:
BMI has gone up to 21.7, weight up by 3lb, WW is pointed daily, I am used to it, look at the label what points does it say? Deduct from the total daily and voila dinner is served, easy:D
Maybe I waffle a lot but I am scared of gaining, to let the reins go and go over to SW, if it works I will be bowing with praise if it doens't the devastation will cut deep:rolleyes:
I know I can gain 1lb a day and 5lb once in 4 days eating so to do it for 7 days would be either 7lb gain or more....what I have noticed in the last weeks is easy to get on no probs there but very hard to get off even a pesky 3lb deficit.... that is why the change came to mind ie SW or some of the diets they keep putting in the woman's mags, you know the ones loose 10lb by xmas, eat choc and still loose, LBD diet all of those, my diet is very healthy and stable full of wonderful fresh veg. fruit, fish, low on carbs and def low on sugars, fats etc but predictable and monotonous all at the same time which is when the days come that not for one minute of it do I stop eating:rolleyes:0 -
Hi Victory - fellow binger here. I hope it works well for you, I also live in fear of 'losing it' and know I have been teetering over the past few weeks. I count calories and would be too fearful to change what I know works for me.

I've always envied youngsters who go off round the world and I thought it was something I'd never do - families, jobs and financial commitments are all the usual reasons for staying put and when you're in good health you take it for granted that you'll be able to do things you want to when you retire. Melodramatic as it sounds, I could be a widow now - it's nearly a year since DH became ill and it really made us realise that we're not immortal, and we need to do things now, not regret it later.
You've already got reasons to keep you here - you've just moved into your first home, you and Matt are starting out on your careers, you probably don't have much money, but keep that dream in your head and make sure it happens!
