Good morning everyone! This is my plan for todays food:

Breakfast -reduced fat egg mayonnaise on scan bran plus fruit and yogurt (free+2.5 syns+free+free)

Lunch - roasted in extra virgin olive oil (1tblsp)vegetables (butternut squash, pumpkin, onion an peppers) mixed with couscous and served on a bed of lettuce (free+heb+free+free)

Dinner - SW salmon fishcakes with SW chips and peas (heb+free+free)

    milk in coffees - hea
syns - to be decided - at the moment its a toss up between a couple of glasses of wine or a real chocolate brownie - both would be about 15 syns each so would have to have one or the other - you decide:rotfl::rotfl:! I will choose whichever gets the most votes:cool:;)

Do you think you will have a dabble in SW, Victory?

I am thinking of next week yes but not sure as it seems alien to me to just eat, the problem with me is I keep my blood sugars/insulin so tight it does not leave room for food:rolleyes: very good in a way because I can't just eat without thinking but bad in another way when you test your sugars and it is say 3pm and there is nothing you can do/eat until the sugars go down later....

I rowed quite strongly with the doc last week, the annual blood sugars are supposed to be 6/7 I got 7.5 and was lectured about how it is high, how lack of control I have, how I should care more about it, the doc went on and on, I know people with 6 yes, also people with 8/9 and one 11.5:rolleyes: so instead of well done I got yabber yabber for .5 and was not impressed:rolleyes: so that is my first concern and also when I used to eat whatever whenever I used to have the biggest bowl of pasta you have ever seen, cooked for 10, the kids used to eat until they could no more but I invariably went back for more as I am greedy, it was cooked and i was not going to waste it, that the portion huge sizes and the excess carbs made me large and stopping it made me loose weight, so it is hard for me to understand how on SW you can eat carbs until they come out of your ears and loose weight when WW meals are already portioned for you and pointed and come in what my OH says 'tiny little portions for a baby':rotfl: :rotfl:

I never used to have just one potato or one little bit of rice and got to the size I was....

Good morning Victory:j I'm not sure how it works but it does! I think a lot of it has to do with what you put on your pasta and potatoes. Before slimming world I would just open a jar of pasta sauce, add some mince (fried 0f course) and have all that on top with lashings of cheese. Now it is a huge bowl of pasta topped with syn free home made pasta sauce with quorn added if I want and 28gm of cheese.

Jacket potatoes I would have with butter and sour cream:o, the only rice I ate was fried - well you get the picture:o!!

The total weight loss on the chart gets more and more impressive, I've just worked out how many whole me's you could get for 1770.5lbs :rotfl: Well done everyone :T Congrats Dragon & Jay!

BB sorry you've had a rough few days :( I hope things perk up from today onwards.

Marion - I'm a non drinker so I'd have to vote for the brownie! :)

Victory you're not the only one who can't get to grips with the SW concept of endless 'free' foods of a certain type :o but I'm all for giving different things a try if you're not happy with the current situation :) Do be prepared for some strange fluctuations in the beginning if you do change your approach though, won't you? :)
  • well done dragon, and jay.

bb hope the next few days get better.

victory good luck with the slimming world trial next week, being used to ww portion sizes you probably wouldnt go back to eating so much anyway even though you can?

granny, i would have the brownie, but thats because i rarely drink.

Victory - I am not convinced SW will 'work' for you becasue you are already at a lowish weight - Your bmi is around 20-21? So as far as your body is concerned, it doesn't 'need' to lose any weight so eating more than your usual at this stage will confuse it I believe. Your desire to lose another 3lbs is just part of our human numbers game, not a physical necessity. It is amazing that sw works but anyone who does it has to take that on trust, other wise you tie yourself up it knots in your head and don't do it propertly and then of course it doesn't work. And although Marion needs her 15 syns,I do not lose if I have more than 8, becasue I am naerer my ideal weight and can't take regular exercise. And yes while you can eat a lot, you are suposed to stop when you are full, it isn't a license to to eat the entire contents of your larder:rotfl: . Portion control is still encouraged, but also you are not allowed to go hungry.
I do think it takes a while to get your head round the whole concept - at least 3 weeks and in the run up to xmas, that doesn't seem the best time to mess around with a system that works for you. However, these are only my thought, doesn't make me right but I wanted to put the other side. Personally I adore SW. Day 1 today:D

I am doing december's chart everyone.

Off to work now. Walking in, in a pathetic attempt to believe this might offset the 20,000,000 cals I had yesterday:o
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
