    Hi everyone -
Shell - it's hard but I had to diary my gym visits, and after nearly a year it is part of my week. I never thought that I would enjoy it but I do. I think it is important to fit it in where it makes the least damage - for me I go after work on Mondays and Wednesdays so am used to getting in after 8 now - obviously if you have kids it wouldn't work like that. I also have a personal trainer who texts me if I don't go, that certainly helps!
We have also just got a new dog who is getting me out walking every day - sometimes twice for 2 miles so am waiting with baited breath for the results ;o)
Here is the cutest dog in the world (to me anyway Marion!)

ooh - I want to see your dog but the link isn't working!? When I had my first baby I was so excited and said to my mother-in-law that I thought she was the most beautiful baby in the world. Mom laughed and said "There is only one beautiful baby in this world and every mother has it! I think the same thing applies to dogs;):T

    Love

Have had 4 quality street and 2 dark ferrero rocher, prefer the other ones because they have a nut inside them the dark ones have a blob of dark choc and not so nice:D

    stm welcome:D

missy wish I could leave the weigh in to once a month like you but not enough trust in me, I am determined to get the 3lb gain gone by xmas only to gain it again for xmas period:rotfl: :rotfl: I just don't want to gain now and add more to have loads to loose come January:rolleyes: 32 days to go until xmas but the 3lb gain is very stubborn and refuses to move...

Spending £182 on a new false front tooth:eek: can pay in 4 instalments so happy xmas to me:rotfl: it is not so much vanity as self conscious, so have decided to take the plunge and get it done...

Hi all, had a disastrous weekend, gave in to crisps and alcohol both Friday and yesterday evening. Plus yesterday was school fair and I was rota'd to do hours on various stalls and cafe clearing, but only managed to grab hot dogs and pizza for lunch. I gave up counting syns in the end, how hopeless am I. My weigh in on Tuesday is going to be soo embarrasing!!!

I've managed better today and have resolved to go to bed earlier each night, I think being overtired is a junk-food-eating trigger for me. So with luck I'll have sts, not gained by weigh-in. I sometimes think I'm wasting my time and will just be fat forever. Sorry to moan everyone!

On the plus side I've got a job interview lined up in a couple of weeks, it's 40 miles away, which is a bit of a commute, but still do-able for the 12-18 months experience I need to get me started. beggars can't be choosers and all that. That's if I get offered it, which is a big *if*. At least it'll be interview practice.

    Jay xx

ETA new front tooth sounds like a fab Christmas pressie victory, now if you know of a magic 4-stone-removing pill...
    Anytime;)

    Hi all

I want to see another cute dog too! :)

Busy weekend - we had our first viewing yesterday, so gave the house a good sprucing and tidying up in readiness. The couple seemed really nice and we both felt we would be happy for them to live in our house so fingers crossed for some good news from the agents tomorrow.

Today we did a table top sale - the warm version of a car boot sale! Much nicer, being inside, but we only made £40. People aren't parting with their money at the moment. We're going to do the outdoor one again next weekend unless it's raining, and then the indoor one again on 7th December, and anything that's left after that is going to the charity shop.

KPC - good luck with your first day tomorrow! (Sleep well tonight.)

I have fine hair too, but fortunately mine seems to have improved as I've got older, so there's hope for you. A good cut and style, and using the right products also helps - I always use 'leave-in' conditioner and volumising styling spray (both John Frieda). Conditioners that are used after shampooing and then rinsed out just seem to leave my hair limp and heavy, and not using any increases the static.

Welcome studentmidwife :) - well done! Losing 18lbs in 5 weeks is a great result. :T Good luck with the rest of your course - midwives play a really important role in the health service and good ones are worth their weight in gold.

Jay - good luck with your interview.

    Have a good week everybody.

  • i dont really suffer from lack of motivation just find im flat out all the time!

my job is quite demanding and i have a lot of meetings that can be anytime, so end up working through lunch or late into the evening which tends to scupper my time for exercise (idea in hand to block areas in my diary to suit my exercise plans!)

also i review bands, dj and im training to get my own local radio show too aswell as doing my new tap dancing lessons! what with the house and domestication there is just noooo time!!!

but im going to diary stuff in and i'll let you know how i get on!

munkey, you are soo right about confidence tho, when you feel happy in your own skin then everything seems to go your way!

im feeling hormonal at the moment so ill just give into cravings, otherwise ill eat the whole fridge and still need the chocolate!! :o

:rotfl: Sounds like my day, but it scuppers my meal plans - I don't have any plans for exercise - hence the fish and chips which have been sneaking in each week for a while.

While I was losing my weight I was really focussed and did not give in to takeaways - now I just have to make sure that I don't over do them and undo all the good work.

Good luck with your exercise plans.

Ye Gods and Little Fishes! I can't remember the last time Dr Dragon and I had a take away!

  • When I was losing weight I did not have a single takeaway, I occasionally bought one for the family, but I would eat something more healthy.

Then we saved up for our summer holiday and only had them once a month.

Unfortunately, I have been slipping back into bad habits with working late and not feeling like cooking - no one ever argues when I phone home and say that I'm running late and should I bring home fish and chips

Ah right, I will confess the thought of saving up for a Chinese Meal is very tempting, but other than that having no take away available for about 5 miles is great for weight loss, especially when Dr Dragon can cook something equally as good in not much more time! :rotfl:

  • Oh for a man that would cook!!!

Funny enough Chinese always makes me feel a bit queasy, fish/pie and chips smells better than it tastes and gets a bit samey, the Indian we had last night was an improvement.

But you are right, it can be just as quick to cook it yourself, healthier and cheaper.
