  • glad you had a good day marion! SOunds complicated Jules. I think you are doing the right thing by deciding not to focus on the weight - you don't need any more pressure right now.

my last day at work was weird. I've been there 6 years so it was a bit sad at times but i didn't blub and got out by about 1400. They gave me a huge amazon voucher so i'm looking lustfully at that beedle the bard collectors edition right now. They also bought me a big box of chocolates which i'm sorry to say that i scoffed yesterday. Still, today is day one, and i've stuck to my red day plan like glue. I went and got my hair cut today for the first time in 12 months - a friend recommended a hairdresser. I didn't get the miracle i was secretly hoping for, but he explained to me why I'm never going to get a miracle with my terribly fine hair and how to make the best of it. And then i splurged on some makeup from B for my first day on Monday. As I've been using the same foundation for 5 years I figured it wasn't so bad. How is everybodys weekend shaping up so far?

Hello everyone ... it's been a busy few days so haven't had a chance to check in since I posted the chart on Wednesday. First things first ....

I would like to pass the chart on for December ... please let me know if you'd like to do it. I'll happily take it back again in a month or so.

    Hi all!

    Hope everyone's having a good weekend :D

Good luck with the new job KPC! That's a nice leaving present you got too!

FFM no numbers for me yet this weekend? :p

Weigh in tomorrow for me and it's been a super week on average 1600 cals/day! I've had 1700+ on 2 days because of hard exercise, but fewer on the other days so it will even out :)

Here's what I've been up to:
    • Monday - 90 mins ice skating
    • Tuesday - 40 mins dru yoga
    • Wednesday - 120 mins running (with photo stops :p)
    • Friday - Gym-based sprint triathlon swim/bike/run - 105 mins
I think it's safe to say I'm back to more or less full fitness after my op now, although I'm not going to start any weight training until the new year :)

These are my last few weeks of weekly weigh-ins. I'm happy with my maintaining and I don't see the need to record 52 weigh-ins next year, so from January I'm going to change to having an official weigh-in once a month only.
  • Brr brr and double yuck: weather's a bit vile here this morning. But then I don't have to go anywhere. Hurrah!
Granny - I'll take on the Dec chart is no one else is keen, but a little while ago efrieze said she'd like to take on the chart as it would help her refocus by having to check in here regularly. Are you lurking efreize?

Kpc: good luck with the new job tomorrow. I've got very fine hair, a 1000 curses, and there is a limit to what you can do with it. I lost quite a bit of hair a couple of years ago due to medical treatment and when it grew back it was very wavy: fantastic. Didn't last though, gradually grew out. My hairdresser had fun for a while though.

Jules - really sorry to hear abuot your diagnosis. I too think you are right to put your energy into adjusting to that and handling the other pressures you have. Just managing to maintain will be a huge achievement, and maybe after a break, next year you'll suddenly be ready to give it another go. Keeping up the exercise is great though:T .

Missy - sounds like you've made good steady progress and getting a great balance with food and exercise. You've been really creative in trying out new forms of exercise and focusing on enjoying it. I like that you are happy to stop on yur runs to take photos, soaking up the pleasure of being outdoors not just head down running.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Hey Beanie, have a look at hte website - www.symingtons.com - that will give all the details of the product range - got to say I'm not quite au fait with it yet.

I've hada very lazy weekend so far - meant to have done a lot of cleaning by now but haven't - just been chilling out and reading. Haveto say I've rather enjoyed it. I managed to pick up a copy of LM Alcott's little women in the charity shop. I used to love it as a child but for some reason never had my own copy. Bit of a nostalgia trip!

glad to hear i'm not alone bbelle. The limuit to what you can do with it being - keep it reasonably short and straight? It's handy for medieval re-enactment because it will tie back nicely and can be hidden without any difficulties. Doing 40s styles is impossible though because it's curls all the way. I usually wear a hat and a snood to get around the issue. Actually, I rather like my snood, i think it's quite stylish. IT's a shame it's just a bit too different for everyday wear.

  • Hi Missyg, sorry for being late in with my numbers :D

Mixed feelings on reporting a 1.2lb gain on 14057 calories.

The mixed feelings are not so much because of the gain, but because of the 'quality' of the excess calories.

1500 on Stollen - only 1 piece per day (all gone now)
1460 on various sweets eg jelly beans, bueno, smarties etc
580 on banana chips and peanuts
1050 on various cakes eg mincepies, flapjacks, gingerbread man etc

There was also 1 lot of fish and chips and 2 work buffet lunches.

So, next week I need to focus again to make sure I am 'sensible' - thank you again to everyone - if it wasn't for having to report my 'progress' on here I am sure I would already be half way down the slippery slope.

However, next week hasn't started off too well, we had an Indian takeaway last night (really felt like a curry to help with my cold) and lunch today was an Iceland cook it yourself Southern Fried Chicken (not as good as KFC but half the price). I am having ham, mash and pickles tonight so that will bring today's total back to something half sensible (one of my favourite meals).

Good luck everyone on this week's weigh ins.

    FFM :)

  • argggh i daren't even weigh myself! is it just me or is the problem lack of time not lack of motivation??!

yesterday i went to the local fruit/veg shop and stocked up on loads of both so that i can't go wrong!

also im thinking of quitting the gym, i have joined and adult tap class thinking i will have to go otherwise i will miss out on the routine!

have not weighed myself for at least two weeks and daren't!!

maybe its best to plan out my exercise and work it into my diary? does anyone else have success with that approach?

thanks to all for being a continuing inspiration though :)
