Hmmm, I just had the same experience with the Capital One cashback card so maybe it is common practice?

The Visa is 1.25%/0.5% (the AmEx is 1.5%/0.75%).
it seems they are just declining peoplle who are likely to pay the bills on time to utlilise thier APR .so no one can get the cashback rate theyve advertised?
    I don't think so.

They gave me the AmEx version and I don't pay them interest. FWIW, I have other MBNA cards.

I was recently refused a Saga credit card (handy alternative for overseas spending) simply because the policy of Allied Irish Banks, who operate the card, is apparently to reject any application when more than 4 cards are held.

Halifax Clarity and Santander Zero do the job even better, and they don't seem to operate the same restrictive policy.

I am interested in getting MBNA Amex and MBNA Visa cashback cards. I have had credit cards for over 30 years and always paid on time. I am currently unemployed, any body got one who is unemployed at the moment?.

Hi Fran, Are you allowed to post referral links in this forum?

The ukrewards is a referral from Fran to a prepaid cashback card but it looks like you need to raise £50 on it before it's even paid out.

Online Cashback rates are often higher with TopCashBack and it pays out from 1p.

Not sure about the instore rates as the ones quoted on your website are higher than those quoted on the cashback card website itself. You need to correct your information.

It could be useful for instore transactions where the percentage rate is higher than my cashback credit card ie 1.5% but that's only one or two stores at the moment and I'm not too sure I'd work up £50 cashback that quickly either.
  • I've got the Capital One 5% cashback credit card. Have an excellent credit rating and always pay in full every month on other accounts.

I have just received my AA Members Credit Card. It has 3% cash back on fuel (up to £2000/year spend), that’s the best I have found for fuel. It’s only 0.5% on everything else. I’ve still got my Barclaycard which gives 2% cash back on supermarkets and fuel, again 0.5% on everything else. But I use my Egg credit card for everything else which gives 1% cash back. All seems to work well and it’s nice to get something back.

The MSE emails & website never seem to mention the paypal credit card, I'm not sure why? It seems to be one of the best deals out there.

    I can't post a link apparently, but it's paypal-marketing.co.uk with /mastercard/

    1% on all spend
2% on spend via paypal (ebay and all other retailers that accept paypal)

The payout is monthly via vouchers you can use on any spend via paypal - I've had £200 of vouchers so far this year!

I've just got this one too. My intention is to use my Halifax Clarity Reward Card for the first £300 a month of non-petrol spend, and the AA card for petrol and anything over £300. I spend roughly £100 a month on petrol.

You had me interested until that, shame they won't just pay cash...
