Kaat, mmmm, lavender that’s a nice idea – I have a bottle of lavender oil & spare fabric, so guess what will be made by the weekend!!!! I think I remember someone saying you should put some water in the microwave every now & then at the same time as the rice/wheat bag, so the contents don’t burn – is that right?? (or did I make it up…???)

Squiggley Diddley,, no I have never put water in with any and have had them a lot of years,,,,,,

    sistercas,,,,no bargains,, just nuts

    see you soon

  • Thanks Kaat, I will let you know how I get on (likely to do some over the weekend).

Scuzz, I know that feeling.... (supporting mums, sisters, and everyone else in the world!!) Come & rant as much as you want :)

Jet, I certainly don't feel guilty about using my DW!! It uses less water than by hand, and I set it to run at night so it's on cheap electric too. Plus everything comes out much cleaner & isn't forever piled up all over the worktops....

Redruby - I am not easily confused. At all. lol!!!!!

Just typing the last few letters for the office & then off to bed for me after that..

  • Aaargh. Just lost a huge post. :o

    Basically it said.....

Squiggly, be careful with the wheat bags as I have seen some news stories of fires caused by them overheating.

Congrats Mrs MH. :T :j

    Thinking of you Marie. xxx

Then I rambled on about my day which wasn't very exciting and certainly not worth repeating, something along the lines of.... paperwork, washing, ironing, homeworks, tea, dishes, lit fire, coffee and laptop. :D

Pink is home tonight. Yay!!! :j

    Hi everybody,
I am sooo tired, even though DD4 has been home for the last 2 days and has cooked meals, washed etc, I expect that it is the running to the hospital every day, where parking can be a menace.

Ulick seemed to me and to DD4 ( we were in separately this afternoon) to have regressed quite a bit from yesterday, he seemed to be getting more words confused and can only remember our eldest grandson's name, the others are 'him' or 'her' which can make it difficult to understand who he is talking about at times.. he has since been moved to the stroke unit for further assessment so will know more about that to-morrow.

Can't seem to settle to much these days, tiler is coming to do kitchen on Friday and Saturday, hope that works well, I am still dumping and sorting stuff and then have to move out of kitchen anything that isn't nailed down. I had hoped to have the painting done but not going to happen now, will do it after tiling.

Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to Mrs Mortenharket...look after yourself

    Talk tomorrow

Just an update. Car fixed and arrived at destination for today all but 5 hours late. It was a part we had fitted at VW dealer less than 14 months ago but has 2 year guarantee, so hope to claim back.

(((Hugs))) to Mr and Mrs Catznine, to Pippa's Mum,to Beth who MUST start taking it easy, to Ulrick and to Squiggly's aunty.

Donny-Gal - glad you finally got mobile again.

Rage in Eden - welcome back! I left my last job in exactly the same way except I lost the plot more than once and took it out on my DH more than once, too. He said he'd rather starve than have me carry on there! My job was medical, too; there is such a lot of pressure on fewer and fewer staff these days. I work from home now and it's the best move I ever made.

Mummysaver - thanks for mentioning Magnetix; I've seen it before but not thought about it until you said. It will be just the thing to buy her for Christmas!

I forgot our hero was on tonight and I also forgot to record it so I'm a bit cross. They repeated the last series on the Sunday after each episode so I'm hoping to catch it on Sunday.

Anyway, I have had a long hot bath and we're going to sit and watch Axemen that we recorded earlier. I've also recorded Supernanny and will watch that while I'm ironing tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a good evening.

    Night, night.

  • Haribo, thanks for that - I shall take care not to overheat...

Marie, huge hugs to you & Ulick.
Catznine, hope you & Oh also feel better soon.

Finally finished typing letters for work (also health related!), kept getting distracted by "Lost in Austen". Off to get a cuppa & up to bed now, ready for a brief trip to Bognor tomorrow (my mum "suggested" we could go as she has stuff she wants to take over for my sis).

Night all, hope those with worries manage to get some sleep too.
    take care all

DD(14) has just informed me I am a "saddo" and a "loser" because I spent the morning making home made elderberry syrup and have ordered some dried elderberries to make more of the stuff.

Went to get an eye test and found my distance vision has changed, my near vision has changed and I am astigmatic in my right eye!!!! The changes are not massive but all together have made things more difficult.

Have ordered a nice pair of variofocals and got another spare pair free!

Peas are soaking for soup in the slow cooker tomorrow and I think I have finally sussed banking on line - fingers crossed!;)

DD wants new "teenage" pjs as she is going on a sleepover so will have to get these tomorrow.

Found a dvd of "St Trinians" for about £6 and free postage on play.com for a birthday present so very pleased and treated myself to a new top in the sales while I was out - DH did not even notice I had left the house in a plain blue top and come back in a black and white one!!!;)

Hugs to candygirl, mioliere, penny pincher, rage in eden. Hester and anyone else who could do with one.

Took great pleasure in phoning Natwest and cancelling appt. on Monday with "advisor" and tellng them I had found what I wanted online- they tried valiantly to say the "advisor" could have found me a better deal but I very much doubt it!!
