Morning all!
Grey and gloomy and windy here, no rain yet, so finger's crossed for my washing!
WM and DW on, did BM when I came in from work in the silly hours, gammon joint sliced up and ready to be bagged, leftover macaroni cheese portioned up and ready to go in freezer, sausage casserole in the SC (dog sitting below it and looking up hopefully every so often, as if it'll jump out and into his bowl!), and pizza dough in the BM.
Casserole for dinner tonight, will make dough up into pizzas for dd1 and dd2's party tomorrow, just taking some nibbly bits for the girls, will take some tortilla chips and some carrot and cucumber sticks and dips as well. Party is at Lush and I can't wait!
Whizzed around the sitting room and had a browse of the Observer mag from Sunday, gives advice on making your food go further! Have run the dog up the lane, still more blackberries, so will need to persaude the girls to go and pick me some if it stays dry this evening.
Off for a browse and then to bed, only had a couple of hours when I got in from w**k, eek! Hope that Ulick is doing well Marie, thinking of you both. Hugs to anyone else in need. xx
Edit:
Candygirl - what can I say, dd's ex bf and his family all sound barking - perhaps the court bit refers to him not wanting to pay anything for the babe? Glad you made it to your course, nice to do something for you for a bit!
Pooky - I've always worked evenings and nights since having the kids, not ideal and not always the best pay, actually never the best pay, but it fits around them. If I'd gone back to work doing what I used to do the days would have been so long that I'd never have seen the children, and as oh is away a lot of the time the only practical solution would have been to have a full time nanny, so I'd have been working to pay for a bigger house to fit her in as well! But I do enjoy actually earning some money, not as much as I enjoy spending it sadly .......!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Morning Guys!
I hope everyone is well.
Feeling very tired this morning and everything hurts.....nevermind!
My helper eventually came this morning and she has done a good job, although she was only here for 1.5hrs...I wasnt here when she left as I had to visit the hospital. She is dropping back the ironing later, so may have another word with her. I know she hasnt been well...I am really loosing patience but dont want to be left with no help at all.
WM hasnt needed to go on today but I really need to do a white wash over the weekend.
My sister called last night and has asked if we want to stay over Friday night as my folks are away and when we normally visit they are there too. It might give us some time to make sure all is okay with her and new BF and we can see the children too. She makes cakes and is making OH his favourite and doing a roast dinner for Friday. Will have to pick up DD and go straight from school so we miss the traffic.
Have been invited to an Indian Buffet on Sunday, but not too sure if we can make it as I'll be knackered from sisters. Also had a call from another friend...we have been trying to make a date for dineer for a few months now and we have finally done one for 2 weeks time:D
Had my appointment through to see the surgeon about my hysterectomy on the 3rd October.
Anyway, I rambling.
Take care everyone.

Mrs Moneypenny - what a kind offer! As luck would have it, I'd written 'row counter' on my shopping list then thought 'how non-MSE is that? Going out to buy a new one when you can't be bothered to take the sofa cushions off and have a good look?' Result - one relocated row counter (and a beautifully hoovered sofa - which also meant I had to hoover the other sofa and the chair! Where do all the bits come from under the cushions? We don't eat in the sitting room - just sit and knit (well, I do), watch TV and doze off!) Anyway, thank you so much for the offer to post one to me; it was really very kind of you and, if I'd been lazier, I'd have been only too grateful!
I'm glad your DS has done his homework but it does seem an awful lot for an eight-year old. My DGS is the same age so I shall ask his Mum and Dad how much he gets.
Candygirl - lots of (((hugs))) to your Dad and your DD.
Well, I've pegged the washing out on my covered line so if it does rain it won't get wet but I'm not sure it will get dry, either - it's just hanging there looking depressed!
I had to call into Sainsbury's to get some milk and the girls on the tills were talking about Christmas looming up. I asked if they had started stocking Christmas things a bit earlier this year because that's how it seemed to me, and was told that Sainsbury's are fully aware that there isn't much money about this year so they've stocked earlier to encourage people to buy what they could afford towards it each week. It's going to be a rough year for retailers as well as the rest of us, methinks.
Well, I'd better go and get some work done.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Once again, Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for the offer of the row counter.

PenPin - that's not too long to wait, is it? It'll be great to get it over and done with. It sounds like a good idea to go to your sister's. You can suss the situation out and also enjoy the meals! I hope the helper situation can be sorted out so that you are not left without help. It must be such a worry for you and your OH. (((Hugs))) to you.

Morning everyone
Well my gdad went into theatre at around 9.30. Mum is driving to Papworth later today to see him after the op, I'm aiming to go up there at the weekend, unless they've sent him back to Ipswich hospital to recover and then I shall go there instead. I hope he will still be at Papworth as my DS2 is only 10 and Ipswich don't allow anyone under 12 to visit, whereas Papworth allow anyone from 2 years upwards.
I'm rathe rpleased with myself today. I completed my first assesment for the computer course I'm doing last night and scored 75% - I got 2 out of 8 questions wrong and they were dead easy so I was a bt narked last night to say the least. Anywho I went online this morning and did the second assesment and scored 100% woohoo! I can and will do this course and get the dream job in IT that I've always wanted. I do get the impression that DH isn't too happy about me doing this course tho, you'd think he'd be happy for me fulfilling a life long dream of mine but no he can only see that I'll be working further away from home and he won't be able to keep tabs on me so much. Sadly it has taken me 16 years to realise that he has been supressing my ambitions - heyho he's got 2 choices either support me or ship out.
Well, I better get back on as I'm being very naughty and on here while I'm at w*rk - shhh don't tell the boss!!Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -
Hello, not been here for YONKS!
Must return though, rather than lurk.
House has gone to pot, money ok-ish though.
Am 12 weeks pregnant, so have been knackered & have done nowt round the house.
I need more than flylady, I need a miracle!
I will be giving my job up in around feb next year. Shall have to be inventive with food as shall loose the food/clothes budget. But won;t qualify for extra help with childcare as dh earned about 2p too much. Paying for the 2 in childcare in the hols is expensive without a 3rd.
Anyway, must get back into the os swing of things.
So far today. Done nowt. Well taken dd to the docs. Hence I am here, as would normally be at work!
I need to do so much, cannot list it all.
Will see what I actually achieve.

Hi everyone!
A lovely sunny day here today, blue skies.. wow it's gorgeous. (Can you tell I haven't been out of the house in a week?? I am going stir crazy I think...:rotfl: ) But it is nice to see the sunshine.
Am tired today. I was up late last night talking to one of my very best friends (an ex boyfriend actually) who is in Montana (7 hours behind us). He has cancer and at only 41 yrs old doesn't have an awfully long time to live. he loves to hear me sing so I got the mic working and sang to him in between talking. He couldn't really talk much back, his voice is raspy and painful. He is having some treatment but is hoping to be home with his wife and children soon and I am praying that he will be.
As it was gone midnight my OH went off to bed so I had to stop at two songs, not wanting to keep him awake. *chuckles*. I know I made my friend smile and that meant so much to me.
mioliere - for some reason your talking about your lovely niece made me cry. I think sometimes we all forget how lucky we are and I think the items you are sending sound so special and are so well thought out. I was really touched.
Marie - hope you have good news today
Jackie0 - Well done you! Nice that you are so happy today:D
Morwenna - Hope you feel better soon.
Hi kaat!
Ruth - Hope your g'dads op goes well, will be thinking of you and him.
Well, I hope you all have good days today. *Hugs* to all who need them and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating today.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
Back again, got caught on the phone! Been volunteered by a "friend" for some charity stuff, will have to squeeze it in somewhere! And another friend wasn't thrilled that I didn't get overexcited about him wanting to move his 17 year old girlfriend in with him - he's just come out of one relationship and is still in counselling about it! Ah well, pointed out that it might be a good idea to sort himself out and plan for her to move in in a few months time - by then I hope he'll be thinking a bit more rationally! Nowt so queer as folk!
Sun is now shining, and new lot of washing is out on the line, shame that my washing line isn't in the sun till late afternoon lol!
Got a great whoopsie bargain last night/this morn, popped into Asda when I'd finished work, cos we needed cat and dog food, and found bags of apples reduced to 8p each, picked up a basket full of them - should see the kids through a few days, might have to make some apple braids for the freezer tomorrow as well.
Kathy - I keep meaning to ask you, now that you've reminded me about evaporated milk on porridge, what can I do with the rest, even I can only eat so much porridge! Thought I might make the kids a milk jelly, but wondered if you had any other ideas?GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
