Oh I forgot to say I managed to buy my Cuttlebug last week for my crafting and got it a £50,00 and I am so pleased with it.It is a pre Christmas present from myself to myself. I made lots of cards over the week-end and took them yesterday to the breast care clinic at my local hospital so they can sell them Our local hospital is trying to raise money for a chemo unit locally as the nearest one is in Maidstone 14 miles away. So I am really feeling good this week0

Morning everyone. It's dry and a bit warmer here today so that can only be a bonus can't it.Last night was realy cold and damp though and I went to bed by 10.
I don't have anything much to do today.I'm afraid that I'm becoming so organised I'm putting myself out of a job.
I think I may go in the loft and open some of the boxes that we brought from our old house.I know for a fact they're full of stuff we'll never use again so I may find them all a new home even if it's just the charity shop.
Morwenna, sorry to hear your'e off colour. We had that sore throat and runny nose last week and felt terrible. It's not nice is it.Hope you feel better soon.
charlies-mum,I know what you mean about getting up in the morning's.I'm starting to hug the covers more and more and it's so dark on a morning my brain still thinks its bedtime.
N9eav,Don't start me on about this government.all of us older ladies will have been waiting for this mess to happen since the day they first got into power as they always end up like this.Seems they're running true to form.Trouble is who are we all going to vote for come the next election. They're all a bunch of no hopes.
Anyway have a good day everyone.I'm going to try to.
Take care xxx.0 -
Well done, Jackieo! I'm so glad you're feeling good!

Morning everyone- it looks like a pleasant day here, but cool.I have a gadget that tells me inside and outside temps and it says its 13 deg C,and thats with a bit of sun.
As I was out a lot yesterday I need to do some housework/ironing,then get on with my jam-making which i abandoned yesterday.DS2 has decided he needs to lose a bit of weight (think he's met a new girl, but he keeps it to himself)Anyway he favours a low carb approach, which is fine but I find it hard to do packed lunches, especially as he's allergic to cows milk, plus its expensive and he only decided at the weekend AFTER I'd done the shopping:eek: .Got to admit that since I got the Panny it is all too easy to overdo the bread-I've put some on too.He made me smile the other day-I'd bought a packet of 4 barms as I'd done burgers for him- he took one bite and said these are stale (I'd only just opened them)No I said ,you've just got used to my very fresh hm bread.
Anyway must go out with the dog,not that he looks bothered-snoozing away, but as soon as he hears me change my shoes he'll be up looking at me with those big soulfull eyes.
Hope you all have a good day. xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning peeps.
Don't often post but always lurking somewhere.
Today DS is 'doing' catering as part of his GCSE. Must admit so far he has turned out some nice stuff but its a bit heavy on the pocket as a startup - the always seem to want to use cooking utensils we don't possess ( well we do now!!)
Beautiful morning here. As we still have about 4 acres of standing hay we decided after all the bad weather to let it go over - the result is an abundance of birdlife - common buzzard is a regular visitor and recently we have 'acquired' some pheasants. However, we heard a shot the other night and have only seen the one since - Hope nobody has taken them , they are gorgeous birds, but they do taste good too
Off to do the mucking out now. :eek:0 -
Morning all
Brrrrrr...it's a tad chilly here today....but it's supposed to be warm and sunny again by the end of the week....no wonder everyone's got colds.
Last nights dinner was yummy, even if the oven element did decide to blow again, ended up using the top oven which takes forever.....the landlady has been informed and is sorting it out again - will be the 3rd element to blow in 6 months.....if it were up to me I'd replace the oven but heyho. I shall seriously look at getting a remoska, not sure it's possible this side of xmas tho.
Have been toying with the idea of going back to work, but still find myself in the situation of by the time I've paid childcare for youngest and travel to get anywhere and back (live in a village and don't drive) I'd barely break even over the course of a year. DH loves me being at home but I really do feel I should contribute more to the finances. His arguement is that by doing everything OS I'm saving us money which is even better but sometimes I'd just like to see a wage that I earnt, going into the account......Anyone else feel like that or is it just me?
Pasta with a mixed bean and tomato sauce for tea tonight, will make extra for food flasks tomorow too.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Morning all:)
Just popping on for a min in between chores, i've already hoovered , mopped floors , washed up and hung washing out:eek:
Am popping to see Dad in bit before he goes to the hospice for his infusion, his legs have swollen beyond belief, and the massaging isnt working any more:(
Went to a philosophy course last night, which was very interesting, although the lecturer was reading off notes the whole way through, even though he said he's been teaching it 30 years:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: As a fellow teacher I find that very hard to believe;)
DD rang her bf's Mum last night whilst I was out, who apparently said she wasn't interested, and they are both as bad as each other.I can't get over her attitude, she knows what her son is like, has even told me herself, and she has a DD the same age as mine:eek:   Let's hope she doesn't find herself in the same situation;) They keep saying "we'll see you in court!!!"God knows what they mean, but I do feel like i'm living in an episode of Jeremy Kyle at the mo:rolleyes:
Anyway must tootle off to get a shower, (((huggles))) to all in need today xxx:A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I've done it again! All the replies I meant to do and I have promptly forgotten.
Drat. Or even Darn!
Well, today is murky looking, cold and gloomy. So far I have done very little. Pooky, I know what you mean. I would love to be able to get a wage, but I don't drive either (which is perhaps a mercy for other drivers) and dear heart doesn't want me to do an evening job when he is home or a weekend job because he would not be able to relax because he would be looking after little bear...
Little bear is very grumpy and missing his grandad. If they were even a bit nearer in age they would be partners in crime, and cause absolute mayhem. As it is they can manage a great deal!
Dear heart is tired, and I am feeling a little less sparky than I did yesterday, but little bear woke a lot in the night. Dear heart did his bed time routine last night because I was too poorly, and I think it made him a little unsettled, as well as missing his chum.
Regardless of anything else that needs doing, today is an ebay day to try and get rid of so much clutter! Apart from the shepherd's pie I promised dear heart who will be devastated if it isn't ready when he comes home. I shall do it in the Remoska!
