honeypop, I know you would like to get your next clomid cycle straight away, but wouldn't it be better to do it after the wedding and the honeymoon? So you come back all relaxed, instead of having clomid with all the stress of the wedding? And, who knows, maybe honeymoon is a drug strong enough to get the baby stick? Miracles do happen, don't they? (Well, if they don't - don't tell me as I am still hoping for one!!!!!)

    Baby glue to all!!!!

  • Hi Rosiebud- It is a general anaesthetic but the consultant said the procedure will take approx 45 mins and I will be going home after a couple of hours which is good.

Thanks for that hun, I am glad its a general! I know its stupid cos I'm ttc but I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to things "down there" and was hoping you was gonna say that! :o

Well good luck for tomorrow, and once they know whats going on in there have faith in the wonders of modern medicine cos they can do great stuff these days, once they know what they've gotta do!

I know what you mean, the reason I am thinking this is because I remember the doctor saying if he was going to give a 3rd and final cycle of clomid it would be straight away as they wouldn't put me back on it after a break, so that's why I thought I would have to get it for the very next cycle.

Not sure after the wedding and honeymoon would make much difference, I'm under no stress and have probably been the most chilled out and relaxed I've ever been this past few months so if being relaxed makes a difference then it hasn't worked for me lol.

OH has to give his sample Tuesday and they are also only open 1 hour! It's about a 45 min drive plus nightmare parking, AND they said he cannot produce on-site so it's going to be so close getting it there. I can't even take him and wait outside instead of parking as I have to be at work.

Our hospital is about 40 minutes away and has no seperate room in which to do samples. My hubby has to use the toilets. Its the best way for him as he can't guarantee he can keep it warm enough on the journey.

It sounds gross to use the loos but what can you do?
In all honesty, if your OH uses the loos, how will they know? At least you know it wil be fresh and at the right temperature.

If its your OH's first sample, tell him to stress to them that it needs testing immediately. My hubby had to go back once and do a repeat as they let it go cold

  • Hi Rosie Bud, yes, I'm definitely ov'ing - the bloods confirmed that, and I've been charting on and off since first ttc and consistently have a higher temp around CD14. Pleased as I am that everything's OK, morbidly if something was found that was wrong I could at least focus on having something to fix. It would a) explain things and b) give me the hope that once 'it' was fixed ttc would be a doddle.

I don't know what's going on internally though. The nurse seemed to think that my regular (28 days), normal, painless periods suggested things were good inside. That's great, but she also openly admitted that she's not a fertility specialist and sort of put the ball back in my court as to the next step (and she didn't know what that step was). I know a doc would need to refer us for further tests, so I'm planning on asking for a referral, and will probably get that ball rolling this month.

This whole ttc lark really is a test of character. I like things to be organised, but I tend not to worry or obsess about things that are out of my control. But I can't control what that darned egg and PP are doing and all I seem to be able to do is obsess about it! I started yoga a few weeks ago, and feel sooooo relaxed after the class; I'm hoping that yoga combined with the reflexology will work the magic as far as relaxing is concerned, while going back to the docs makes me feel like I'm 'doing something' and therefore am back in control.

Oh I don't know. It amazes me how anyone can 'just happen' to fall pregnant when it seems so bloody impossible to achieve!

Shelly - it's interesting what you said about your OH's sperm test going cold. DH's results came back slightly under par but 'nothing to worry about', but I'm just wondering if having taken us 40mins to get them there, if they then sat around waiting to be tested maybe the results weren't accurate in the first place. Another question for my trip back to the docs :o

Ginvst - I meant to say too that it's good news your lump was nothing to worry about. I hope it's not too painful any more.

Sorry it's a long one... thanks for reading if you haven't already nodded off!!

I personally avoided looking at the other thread because I have been trying for so long now.

Me and DH have been trying for well over a year and always nothing, I guess I'm feeling bitter because AF has just started today, so again that means another month of disappointment.

I know its selfish of me but I am too scared to get any tests done because I have such an intense fear of needles.

Fear of needles... How familiar... When I was a kid and had to get medicine using needles it used to be so horrible! My skin was so thick, that needles just bounce of it! I have to admit, that if need blood tests and the blood is taken from the vein, I am fine with that, but don't try the cut through the muscle! (not that I have any - it is just fat nowadays)

  • giveitawhirl,I hope everything went OK today with your lap and dye - will you get the results straight away,or do you have to go back for them ?

On CD34 and still no AF - going to test again tomorrow, Don't really think that I'll get a BFP,knowing my luck I'm probably bloody menopausal !

I'm I the only one, or does all this TTC lark begin to take over your life ? my life seems to consist of peeing on a stick and symtom spotting !!!

Extra sticky baby dust to you all X

AF is due today, actually think it was meant to be due yesterday even, nothing yet, some 'symptoms' but nothing that can't also be explained by something else, my BBT hasn't dropped like it did last cycle a few days before AF came. My point is...

OH has to do his sperm analysis tomorrow, and he would like me to test tonight (most likely tomorrow morning, first wee and all that) if no AF by then so he can 'get out of going' - not his words lol - if it does turn out I am pregnant. He doesn't really mind doing it, but he's in such a panic over getting it there in time and finding somewhere to do it that if he didn't have to go he would be relieved, he thinks if the swimmers have done their job (eventually) then no need to get it tested. On the other hand, I would still like him to go and get it done as it's taken 15 months so far and if anything happened and we had to TTC again I'd like to know he'd already been checked out and ok'd.

Like i said, its early days to be testing, and I hate to symptom spot because as far as I'm concerned the only 'symptom' exclusively meaning you are pregnant is a BFP, pretty much everything else can be explained away by other things. If he wasn't booked for the tests tomorrow, we'd be waiting longer before testing but he is keen to know before tomorrow.

Am I making un-necessary work for him to still go if there's a BFP? Would you still get your OH's to go?

Also, any other time and I wouldn't be expecting a BFP, just that this was a clomid cycle, I know for a fact I ovulated and that we BD'd on 3 out of 4 of my fetile days including OV day, so I have let myself think that maybe, just maybe, this time is THE time - first time really in the whole time TTC though so not bad going.
Deep down, I am expecting a BFN, I wouldn't be too disappointed as it would be no different to the last 15 months lol!!

I would ask him still to get tested.... I had one month (August) when my AF was late by 2-3 days and my temp didn't drop until after my AF has actually started (and oh boy did it started!!!!!).
You have been trying for long now and I think it would be fair for him to get tested, so that you can put that at rest. What if it is not going to be as lucky and (don't want to jinx anything, but early mc so common, apparently) you need to resume ttc after this month... It would just you both at rest, I think.

On the similar note - how long did you ttc before asking doctors to investigate why it is not happening? I was thinking that if we still haven't seen BFP by Christmas, it would be worth asking docs to check us out... It would be 16 months by then. I'll be 29 by then and OH will be celebrating 35th in January...
