  • Come on ladies (and meltix ),time to confess - what is the most bizarre thing you've done in your quest to get pregnant ? Apparently Nicole Kidman swam in "fertility waters" in her native Australia and is convinced that this is what led to her finally becoming pregnant.Personally , I secretly swapped my chair at work for the "magic fertility chair" and even more strangely I have taken to reading my horoscope in the hope that "mystic meg "will announce that the patter of tiny feet is on its way - Didn't believe in them before,so why now ?

Well it does sound like what i mentioned before. As it has hardened it means it is resolvining itself and will eventualy settle down. If in the early days you would have squeezed it in the bath it would have been like squeezing a facial spot but more painfull. I have had these a few times and been told they are from removing hair and from what my dr says the only way to stop it is by not removing hair and using a good exfoliator that is thoroughly rinsed off afterwards.

Ok, didn't see the GP, but was seen by the nurse. She said it looks like a hair follicle and even when you don't remove hair by any means sometimes they form cysts:confused: So, I got a prescription for the cream to help it sooth and if it doesn't settle, I am to come back. Thanks for all the support!!!!

On the way back popped into Boots to get my prescription and got Agnus Castus and a vitamin complex for my OH, making sure it has plenty of zinc. And the funny thing is taht when we looked at home it comtains more folic acid than my vitamins (mine is recommended 400 mg, and his is whole 500mg!!!). AF was here on Monday and left now, but decided taht iwill start taking Agnus Castus straight away and stop mid-cycle. Oh well, sweet potatoes are going on the shopping list straight away! What else? Fed up of trying. We call this a 'project' and it is about time it materialised!

First time round, I was convinced by an aromatherapist to let her practise Reiki on me, and when that failed to work after several months, to carry around a crystal (a la Cherie Blair, crystal healing) all the time. Needless to say neither worked, and it took hefty doses of fertility drugs and a man with a big syringe full of PP to do the job!

This time round, I haven't tried anything wacky yet, but I am getting to the point, I think of going back to the man with the syringe to see whether he can work his magic again. Though for reasons not too dissimilar to Meltrix's experiences, my OH would rather we didn't have to resort to this if there is any other alternative.

Meltrix, when i was ttc for 3 years i joined an american site at one point, for women with pcos. they were all talking about sweet potato/yam as a dietary method of balancing your progesterone. you can buy wild yam cream too. i can't remember if you eat it/use cream all the time, or at a certain stage in your cycle. i left the site because it was too busy, also somebody said i shouldn't be allowed there because i had an 8 year old child already. still, you might want to look into the cream.

i'll bow out of the thread now, because my husband has said he definitely doesn't want another child. if i manage to change his mind i'll pop back in :rotfl:

best of luck to you all.

  • I had acupuncture for years before even thinking about TTC - it kept me on an even keel and I loved going. Once we were TTC I changed acupuncturists and took chinese herbs - the smell of the simmering liquid was dreadful, and used to go right through the house.(The taste wasn't great either:p )
I had acupuncture from her before the IVF and a few sessions after embryo transfer - which worked first time.
i had friends saying prayers/thinking positively etc. One friend even sent me a Roman Catholic 'relic'- some sort of fabric attached to a prayer about motherhood. I took all thoughts/gifts in the manner they were meant.

I had a lot of gynae probs once I turned 30 (here's your 30th birthday card, here's your appointment with your gynaecologist...) What finally sorted most of them was food sensitivity testing. I was off almost all processed food - or the main ingredients - for a year = including chocolate! However, it worked in as much as my periods regulated within that time, even though I didn't lose weight.

We are gearing up for another child now - or we will once I am determined enough lose about 2 stone. When were TTC the first time, the mantra 'biscuit or baby' was a contant companion - now the biscuit would win...;) I am simply not broody enough yet.

I wish everyone actively trying a successful outcome.

    Hi Ladies,
Now on CD31 !!! taken 4 pregnancy tests all BFN.
AF is never late and have always had a very regular 28 day cycle ,until last month when it was only 22 days !!!
we invested in the clear blue fertility monitor and this is my first cycle of using it so perhaps the reason AF is late is because I'm constantly thinking about it !!!

Ahh well, got our appointment at the IVF clinic in 2 weeks so should know more about our chances then - mind you I did have to take OH's population paste sample for analysis this morning, everything was going fine until I bumped into a colleague in the corridor ( I work at the same hospital) and there I was trying desperately to get away, and deliver my "precious load" which I was keeping warm in my bra whilst she was trying to update me with all the latest gossip.lol

Baby dust to each and everyone of us and welcome to our new thread

Nottslass - I am not trying to get your hopes up but with both my children although I had regular cycles if I tested when AF was due I had negative results. It took at least a week after I was due to show a BFP. I ovulate late in the month (round day 20) and I think this is the reason why I never had a BFP as soon as I was due on. I am crossing my fingers for you.
I post on another forum and I think there are several ladies who have tried Agnus Castus to help regulate their cycles with some success.
Wish you all luck and lots of baby dust for you all.

It is really hard on the other thread that people pop on for a couple of days then before you know it, pow BFP!

I wasn't going to post on this thread at all (I'll tell you why later) but what I have quoted had me nodding my head in agreement.
I am a long time poster on the other thread but lately have found myself posting less and less and usually when I do post these days its just to answer questions that newbie triers have asked.
For a while on the other thread I felt alot of.....ummmm...what word to use...camaraderie (sp?) I suppose. We all knew what each other was going through but lately its just newbies posting because they have a BFP.....never posted before but thought they would share their good news with us
Which is ok....I congratulate them because that's my nature but I do feel like I've been slapped in the face everytime.

Anyway, why wasn't I going to post on this thread? Well.....I'm bored of the whole TTC thing!!
I am 32 and OH is 37 and we have been trying since 2004. Got pg in second cycle but sadly had a mc. Got pg again in 2006 but had another mc. During D&C for 2nd mc it was found I had abnormal cervical cells. Was diagnosed with cervical cancer and had surgery to remove most of my cervix.
At the moment I am currently dieting so we can get onto the IVF waiting list and I am taking part in a clinical trial for the Clearblue fertility monitor.

I'm just bored of the disappointment every month.
Some months I admit I don't care if I never have children because I feel damn lucky to be here at all.
Other months I crave a child so bad its like hell on earth.

Also I have in the back of my mind that when I get another BFP I will be scared to death of another mc and also I know that as I have hardly any cervix left carrying a baby to term is going to take alot of luck!
I may have to go into hospital at 6 months and stay till baby is delivered by c-section. Its sometimes too scary for me to think about :o

Anyway.....sorry if I sound bitter or have offended anyone....that went on alot longer than I expected :rotfl:

Oh and I also admit I have no time for symptom spotting or testing before I am 3-5 days late at least.....but I'll save that for another day :D

Have decided to leave testing again till Tuesday, which will be 7 days after AF was due. This was our first cycle of using the clear blue fertility monitor and it showed that I ovulated early (day 7) so I'm really not getting too hopeful !!!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed (but not my legs.lol) for BFP

Shelly, you sound like one very strong determined lady, to keep trying after all that you've been through, doesn't make you sound bitter at all, it just proves that you, like alot of us will not give up hope even when we feel that the odds are cruelly stacked against us.

How are you finding the clear blue fertility monitor ? I've only been using mine for one cycle so far and have found it really easy to use.

Good luck with the diet, are you following any particular plan ?

Mega amounts of baby dust to us all

Thanks so much. After I submitted my post I kept thinking about editing it but decided to leave it :o

Now I have gotten used to it the monitor is very easy to use. I too am on my first cycle with it and I am on CD21 and have been at high fertility for 13 days now. Read the booklet again today and apparently that's normal for the first cycle whilst the machine gets used to you.

I'm not following any diet plan yet, just cutting down how much I eat and cutting out a lot of really fatty stuff.
I try to do some exercise but that's not happening much at the moment.....there's always something more fun to do :D

    Good luck everyone.
