Well, I had IVF (pcos, missing fallopian tube due to ectopic, endometriosis) so I did my test 2 weeks after the embryos were transferred and hey presto! It was positive! He's now 3 and was born exactly 40 weeks from transfer on his due date.

I am also trying for my second child and want to conceive quickly so that the ages between my son and the new child is closer. I wish I started sooner at least a year ago. I have found "fertility and conception" by Zita West extremely good and also "Natural conception and pregnancy" by Anne Charlish & Kim Davies good also.
The West book says that ovulation tests are not that reliable and that the temperature and the secretion/mucus is the best method to use. What I like about these two books it that they advice you on how to live a very healthy life to increase your pregnancy chances and also get a healther baby. It also looks at the fathers health and well being.
I am using this book to make my family more healthy... Did you know that you should avoid tin food that is not lined with a plastic liner? Never noticed this but Waitrose tin tomatoes have this plastic liner. Also drinking filtered or bottled water (2litres) is better for fertility for both men and woman. Also did you know that you should not use duing sex gel/lubrication, saliva or oils as this could effect the sperm ease of passage!!! Also using aluminium foil in cooking!!! They go on....
I mark out on the calendar my rough fertile days and just for it with sex as often as we can. The only thing is that my partner is often tired from work and does not always feel up to it. We don't ususaly have sex that often in the first place, so we are increasing this so that we can have another child.
I was ever so lucky with my first prenancy that I conceived within 2months. For some unknown reason I think that I will conceive just as quickly.
Good luck to everyone who is trying and I hope that you concieve soon. Having a child is the best present that you could every get (not saying that my child is a thing or a possession). They bring so much joy into your life.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Meant to be flying to Turkey for 2 weeks on the 19th June
How does it work now, my friend says that it will be the date of my last actual period is classed as my first weeki don't think that sounds right

sorry, i just noticed that you'd mentioned turkey, so i look like a muppet saying you could go to blackpool lol!!
take the day that your last period started, so that's the first day of bleeding, and count 40 weeks onwards. a pregnancy is counted for 40 weeks starting from LMP (last menstrual period) but you're not actually pregnant for around the first 2 weeks of the 40 week period. by the time you miss a period you're already 4 weeks pregnant.
my LMP was october 20th and baby was due july 24th. i'll have a look for a calculator for you. some hospitals give you a scan at 12 weeks pregnant and they might change your dates then, as not everyone gets pregnant on the 14th day of their cycle. each time i've been pregnant i've had my due date adjusted by ten days because i concieve really early in my cycle but i have known people who concieved late and had their due date adjusted the other way.52% tight0 -
well my last actual period was October 28th, the one i missed was Nov 28th (Obviously
) so do i count October 28th as my first week??
Sorry to sound a bit thick, i don't know anything about pregnancy apart from you get fat and it hurts like hell at the end :eek:0
