Has anyone formally been offered the £70 voucher? Not that that is acceptable.

I have not heard anything today. I have just sent an email and copied in Renard - lets hope my "Customer Experience" improves.

Not had any further communications from Dell since an automated email yesterday saying if they can build a TV to the same spec within the next business day otherwise a Dell customer service agent would be in contact with me. What can I say no follow up on a alterative order or a phone call from Dell.

I think Dell are a very company who will try and get out for their "legally binding" contract even states in the companies T&C's, I hope they lose loads of business as they are one of the worst if not the worst company I have dealt with.

Maybe start a new thread to see how many people have contacted Watchdog or who intend to contact them as the more complaints that Watchdog receive then the more chance they will investigate the problem and get involved so we may get a better resolution that the non existant communicatio at the moment.

Nice one darrat. I may be being a bit thick but I have got to ask...where did you get his e-mail address from?

I think Renard, Bell and Claman should get communications from us. I will write/e-mail to all three of them.
Has anybody read Dells "Code of Conduct"? "Their Higher Standard" says,
"Trust -our word is good. We keep our commitments to each other and our stakeholders."
"Integrity -We do the right thing without compromise. We avoid even the appearance of impropriety."
Are you still there? have you fell of your seats laughing yet? Here's a bit more,
"Responsibility -We accept the consequences of our actions. We admit our mistakes and quicky correct them..."

Apologies if you are laughing so much you have injured yourselves. Have good week-ends, "never surender"..etc...I will be a bit quiet over the week-end. I am rubbish at writing letters sit will take me ages. Keep up the good posts!

    Cheers Blackie

Yep I've been offered one from an employee based in Ireland.

It wasn't very formal and I'm sorry as I forgot to verify the details of this but was told that I would recieve a voucher in the post that I could use against a future purchase.

The detail I forgot to clarify was whether this voucher could be redeemed on any order not just a television.

I've recently ordered a PC on the outlet and to be honest another 75 poudns off that order wouldn't be all that bad.

I read back on post #567 of this thread that the email format is:
    Firstname_Initial_Surname@dell.com

I don't know if Renard has a middle initial but the email has not been returned as undelivered.

I was also told that there had been a board meeting where they consulted their lawyers and discussed the terms and conditions and that the decision to offer £75 vouchers is the outcome of that board meeting.

anyone heard anything yet following the

"If we can build your order with an equivalent specification, a new order will be placed for you within the next business day. You will receive updated order reference numbers once this is complete." !

I received this email on the 8th after a customer service manager said she would refer my case to the exceptions team.

This evening i received a call from this manager who said that the tv's are out of stock and i would need to talk to the sales department to place a new order. I asked her what i should be reordering as last time all they offered was 10% off a 32". Needless to say she did not know and was only concerned in closing the case. No mention of the £75 voucher (which I would not accept anyway.

I demanded that my case should not be closed until the matter had been resolved to my satisfaction and she said she would call me back tomorrow (won't hold my breath)

I just wish there was a central contact we could speak to who was dealing with this issue as we all seem to be getting different stories.

i am now unsure whether the call this evening was the call mentioned in the email or something seperate to do with the initial complaint to customer service.

How can one company be so disjointed in their response to customers??

I really hope someone can roast Dell over the fire over this one. It's no longer just a case of not receiving a tv they have entered into a contract to supply, it's also because of the whole attitude of the company in trying to get out of it's obligations, diabolical customer service and scheming how to get one over on it's customers.

I would love to see a Dell representative explain this one away on Watchdog
  • P.S. Martin has a page on the Watchdog site, so must have connections there. Please Martin, can you put a word in for us? Nicky Campbell could have a field day with this one!
