I asked if they are defo coming back in stock and he said yes but they dont know when.
I asked what happens if after 30 days there is no new stock will I then be offered a refurb instead of new and they said no as I have already logged the fault.
This to me could mean after 30 days I only get one option, a refund as I have already turned down the refurb.
I wont hold my breath.
Hold on, if you want to wait for new stock then they only have to complete the sale if it comes within 30 days, if not they are free to give you a refund and say goodbye?0 -

Oh caverncity, thank you! That is well worth knowing. I don't suppose you have the name or even department who told you that?
I am intelligence gathering for the great fight to get "my" TV
Incidentally has anybody contacted/informed ZDNet as well as The Register, Trading Standards, Watchdog, IT Weekly etc....?
As soon as I get the curt "you aint getting anything " from Dell India I am going into battle! I will be contacting all the above and anymore that people can suggest.
It is really sad though. You think an international company like Dell could come up with something better than 75 squid. Especially if they wanted to avoid bad PR. you think they could come up with a compromise that was agreable to all parties. Even if it was 50% off the 32" LCD or supply the 24" with a partial refund.Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!0 -
Flimber wrote:My second replacement is a refurb (!) It's got marks all over the casing. Phoned up, gave the Tag Number and it came up as a company based in the Bahamas. Nice. I'm now on the 'ownership program' waiting for my fourth telly...
I was told that an update will be made available by close of business tonight but whether or not that will be communicated to all customers I don't know.
Mike.
Hi Flimber. Sorry to hear about your probs and I hope you get it sorted out soon. That really is disgraceful. As time passes more an more people seem to be having faults with their TVs.Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!0 -

What has your online status said throughout? I assume Walsh Western called to arrange delivery?0 -
Update!
At last I'm in the game and part of Dells processes. Had contact from a gentleman at Dell India. I didn't get his name as he was too rude to contmeplate a coversation with. Even making allowances for the distance and language issue he was very rude. He very curtly informed me that I was getting a refund and nothing else. He refused to pass me on to anybody else and hung up! I was shocked.
A souce that has access to Dell Systems has told me that Investigations, Dell UK are looking into my particular case and not Dell India. Never heard of them!Never ever pay full price for anything and question everything at least twice!0 -
anyone heard anything yet following the
"If we can build your order with an equivalent specification, a new order will be placed for you within the next business day. You will receive updated order reference numbers once this is complete." email ?
Got this one yesterday but seeing that I haven't received a single call from dell during this whole process I have unsurprisingly heard nowt.
Still I can't wait for the wonderful customer services of Dell to offer us all 32s
maybe at the same time as lord lucan comes riding by on Shergar !0 -
here's the number for head office- 01344 860 456 if anyone can get through to either :

BE WARNED THOUGH, the receptionists at switchboard are a couple of snooty cows- they'll ask what you're calling about and what company you're from so if you do call be prepared to lie convincingly!
i've written to all of the above with regards to my non-existant order and contacted trading standards. The best dell have been able to come up with so far is the 32" for £900 or a £75 refund. pants basically.
Trading standards said as the money's been released back into my acc and i'm in the position i was before i placed the order there's nothing much i can do.
With regards to the 'loss of bargain' thing, that's not an official term, just something coined after there were a few sucessful cases regarding similar situations. TS said i could put it to dell that they should pay the difference but again, said it looked bleak.... the only thing i'm hopeing is that this'll be such bad publicity for them at christmas that they'll get it dealt with immediately.
keep everyone posted on your pogress people!!!!0 -

I used the 01344 number and was put through to UK tech dept. twice, first time they said they dont offer tech support on laser printers even though I told him it was a TV and he had my TAG. Second time I spoke to a John Slattery. I do have this hunch that even though he said they where awaiting stock he knew they where not getting any so I would be left in limbo after 30 days, however I could always take it further with my CC.0 -

We could find out who they have corporate deals (employee discount schemes) with and tell the receptionist you are from one of the those companies and ask to speak with "Renard"??
