Just placed my order for my TV as I thought I would treat myself for christmas with a bit of my backpay from work and at least it is going on something good and a great money saving item considering it was over £1,000 a while back.

I was going to hang out to see if I could get any Dell discount codes but could not wait and did not want to miss out so here is what i paid altogether as long as my order gets accepted as it does not say if they have them in stock.

    £363.08 inc free delivery
+ 5% cashback from Quidco on the ex vat total of £309.00 and taking off the £5 annual Quidco fee so my total should be just over £350 delivered which i think is great.

    Keep up the money saving
  • hi folks. .I was the first one to order and mine still hasn't arrived yet! still. . its due to be here on Tuesday.

I few people are asking about the mounting bracket. Having done some digging on this, there are some really expensive ones out there. . .do be careful!

Best prices I have seen so far have been from https://www.ricamstore.co.uk

They do a nice tilting bracket for about £26 delivered. You could of course get a fixed one for less.

Also try ebay for wall brackets. I saw a few good prices on there a few weeks back.
  • Some guyz were asking re courier...

Ordered mine (for early Xmas present) late Thursday evening... found it had left Dell 4am Friday morning. After a long weekend away I came home this Monday lunchtime to find a TNT 'while you were out' card from 8am Monday.

Phoned local TNT c1pm - got straight through - and they said they'd get the delivery driver to call back with it - and he was here within half an hour!!!! Never seen service like that from a courier firm before. Full marks to TNT! I even phoned them back while still in shock to say Thank You.

Haven't opened the box yet - that's Tuesday's treat with the parents for whom it's a prezzy.

It's always nice to see a company doing its utmost to please csutomers, couriers usually have bad reputation although thankfully I havent in all the years I been buying on internet.

Thanks for that, I have a council house, I earn in excess of £50K but still cannot afford to buy in this area I live in. A standard 3 bed house is in excess of £300,000. I have paid thousands on improvements to the house as I have a high standard and really hate it when we all get branded as 'COUNCIL HOUSE' second rate citizens.
These sort of comments are usually made by thick headed pratts with no touch on reality.

    There Ive said my bit.

    couldnt agree more..............

not near South Reading by any chance?

Just a note to anyone looing for a wall bracket - please make sure it can actually support the weight of the W2600... :D

Back off topic... Went for a job in Bracknell once - salary was 7% more than I was earning; house prices were 3 more than there were in Sheffield

Bad news folks. Got the TV last night, set it up and got everything going. It looks the part, but DVD quality and TV quality is bloody awful. I would say DVD's are unwatchable. Horrendous smearing, blurring and ghosting and a very very grainy picture. PC display is quite good, but again, if you play DVD's via your PC, you will still get smearing and terrible colour reproduction (although not as bad as through a stand alone DVD player).

When watching 'The Thing', you could hardly see anything in the dark scenes.
I heard LCD's were not as good as CRT's, but this is a joke. My 12 year old Toshiba is far far better.

Can I return this to DELL? as it is simply not even close to being good enough.
    Titch :)

I hope the "Horrendous smearing, blurring and ghosting and a very very grainy picture" would have been picked up by all the reviews out there. You can return your TV within 7 days of receipt for any reason, you should have infomation or phone Dell for the returns procedure. I think they might charge £13 returns fee.
