With regards to the wall bracket, it says on the Dell website underneath Tech Specs that it requires "VESA 100 x 200 mm mounting" if you google that they seem to be around the £12 mark for rigid ones, and £20 for the ones that are tiltable. Unless I am looking at the wrong items, it looks like it'd be better to get one from a third party if Dell are charging nearly £50 for em.
  • Asda apparently do wall brackets (£24.99), they are supposed to be roughly the same as this:

After a google VESA 75/100 appears to be the same as (200 x 100)mm ??

Well I have received mine this evening and initial testing reveals it to be fine for watching sport thank god. It comes in a fairly large box and has all the cables that you require bar the scart cables. Loads of different connections available which I'm sure will make the techies happy. I am no guru when it comes to TVs but the display looks fine to me and at least as good as my 24" Sony Trinitron ProLogic TV that is currently residing in the living room (9yrs old). I am not a fan of GIANT TVs in living rooms as I think they look a bit 'council house' or chav but thats just my personal opinion. We have a 24'x16' living room and I'd say the size is perfect for us. Sound is great. The build quality is just that ie 'pure quality' it looks tres cher for such a bargain! A funky remote with blue lighting on the buttons....
All in all I am well pleased with it and propose it to be the bargain of the year!.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY 'COUNCIL HOUSE'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE WE SECOND RATE CITIZENS OR SOMETHING, DO WE ALL HAVE MASSIVE TV's WHO HAVE COUNCIL HOUSES. YOU NEED TO THINK OF OTHERS BEFORE MAKING COMMENTS LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he's just going by all the images we see on TV programmes like Little Britain, chavs etc, there's so much hype about people in council houses...

I am by no ways a snob when it comes to the 'lower class' but society have branded certain people in a way that makes us think of big TV's and all the mod cons....hey some of them are better off than private property owners. Don't think he meant any harm...

Just waiting for my LCD to arrive....can't wait :)
Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A

I have 2(TWO) 36" Toshiba CRT TV in my NON-COUNCIL HOUSE. One in the sitting room and one in my study. They are great!! I have also just bought one of these Dells. I think your personal opinion leaves a lot to be desired.

  • Thanks for that, I have a council house, I earn in excess of £50K but still cannot afford to buy in this area I live in. A standard 3 bed house is in excess of £300,000. I have paid thousands on improvements to the house as I have a high standard and really hate it when we all get branded as 'COUNCIL HOUSE' second rate citizens.
These sort of comments are usually made by thick headed pratts with no touch on reality.

    There Ive said my bit.
  • point taken redfox, just wanted to point out that moneysaving is for all people and is not the place for class discrimination.

I have order a 26 LCD and am looking forward to receiving it on Wednesday. Big thanks to the poster
