Betheeebee - you just made me cry ... that's a lovely poem x
    Hi JET
Didn't mean to make you cry but must admit I had a lump in my throat when I read it out loud. Beautiful words. It was sent to me when DH had his B/day and I used it in the card I made for him, I found it again when he had the stroke and read it to him. Anyhoo,.... up and on eh,

Have got some lentils soaking as DH has had all of the soup out of the freezer. I'm hoping to get a phone call from DD2 soon to let me know that they are home safe and sound, also to see if they have found the makeover I have done. Seeing as I phoned her at 7pm last night our time but 2 am Maldives time, and they had to get up at 4 am I don't know if she would spot an elephant in an empty room.

(((hugs))) to those that need them, especially Pippa S and her mum.

 to everyone. I've just got back from my Jazzercise class. The weight loss is going ok at the moment. Ok, so I put weight on over the summer holiday, but it's been easier to take off with the exercise at least twice a week. (damn!!! :D)

    Hi everyone

Late signing in, but just about organised now, and off in the morning. TBH should probably given up this weekend 'vanning, but it is so good to see friends and the weather was the best we have had all summer, and if the house isn't sparkling, well so be it.

Will be off earlyish in the morning, and laptop packed up, so may not get on. Just wanted to wish everyone, well especially, Beth, MMarie, PippaS, Hester, Penpin, Smoky and everyone else who needs one have :grouphug:.

It will be the 1st before I have full internet connection again, so don't worry if I go MIA. The forecast is rainy over there ATM, and I hope it picks up before DS & GF fly out to join us for 10 days on Saturday.

    Take care

DH has gone to bed so I'm ironing 9 shirts and some pillow cases whilst watching America's Toughest Prisons, think we could learn a thing or two, they have no TV, radio, laptops, smoking etc.

Thanks Beth, yes off back to the house. I hope the weather improves for while DS & GF are there, she is a sun worshipper, but the rain doesnt usually last long.

DONNY-GAL, DB1 phoned from near Alacante where he lives to say it has been a tad damp, hope it improves. DB1 had a leak in one of the pipes in his garden, he happened to hear a wooshing sound. Waterboard called out to check on how much water he was using, he explained the reason for the high reading. Thursday he had a water bill in for 1,889 Euros

OMG:eek: . Are they going to let him off with any of it, or does he have to pay it all?

We have not left any of our area for garden as when we are not there we cannot water plants, or control the weeds, we just have cactus and succulents in pots. One of our neighbours has done his garden with a watering system, and they are out less than us, and it can get overgrown.

We are just south of there as you know.

I just had to come back to say that I am MAD about the way the GC challenge is treating people on the thread...all the women seem to be apologising for posting and I think it is a disgrace. .some women come on here to get away from that sort of environment at home they should not have to say sorry everytime they post or even want to post or make a comment on something,,

I AM BLO**Y ANGRY i'M AFRAID IT IS DISGUSTING

    Hi Kaat_lady,

I am away at the moment trying to settle my daughter into university and I have better things to do right now, but I read your post and I felt that I couldn't let it go without comment.

First of all, everyone who posts on the GC on a regular basis was given more than one oportunity to voice their opinions. I may be wrong, but I don't think that you did.

Secondly the board guides listened to everyones opinions and did their best to adjust the GC to make it acceptable to everyone.

Thirdly, if you wish to argue the toss about the grocery challenge the daily thread isn't the place to do it. Please post in this thread: Grocery Challenge Thread Options and if you find anyone's actions on here 'disgusting', the people to contact are www.abuse@moneysavingexpert.com

Sorry everyone, but the above post made me really cross.

    Pink

Ps for those who are interested, where dd is staying is a fabulous place. I've had my purse well and truly emptied but she's comfortable and happy so I am too.

Thanks for all your well wishes, I only cried once or twice today when she wasn't looking. Wednesday will be a different kettle of fish altogether. :o

DONNY, They do the same with their garden as you do, the burst pipe was underground by the manhole, the water board said that, because it was on their land they have to pay for the water.

DB1 and SiL are now going to cancell their ski-ing holiday.
