Morning all,
Getting ready for work atm, just done a few bits of ironing whilst the kettle was boiling.
Will be working until 8 all week, but got spag bol ready for tonight (from SC), so will just need to do pasta and garlic bread when I get in.
Did not sort out my car insurance last night - it's so confusing!! Think I will ring my Dad for help tonight. Am tempted to go with Direct Line, as they have 0% APR, so I could pay it off over the year and use my savings to buy a bed and mattress now.
Meanmarie - Hope the scan results help to sort things out and that your OH recovers asap
Pink - Good luck today
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

hope all are well :grouphug: to those in need

I just had to come back to say that I am MAD about the way the GC challenge is treating people on the thread...all the women seem to be apologising for posting and I think it is a disgrace. .some women come on here to get away from that sort of environment at home they should not have to say sorry everytime they post or even want to post or make a comment on something,,

KATT havent read the thread yet ive not been on the puter since friday, i hope it doesnt get to unpleasant its not nice to be worrying about whether you can post something or have someone jump down your neck for it
hope everyone had good weekends, hugs to all those who need or want one i hope whatever the problems are they start to improve.
well done and congratulations to all of those with celebrations and reason to be happy
had a really busy weekend, cleared out the shed which produced enough junk for a tip run, youngest DS loves going and helping find the right bays for all the different forms of recycling. sunday morning collected a beautiful cream leather 3 seater settee we saw for sale in the paper only £50 so bargain. spent the rest of the morning dismantaling the old worn out one, and it went off to the tip on the form of wood, metal springs and textile recycling. he loves the wood recycler best as it has a huge roller that crushes the wood and stlinters it down (the guy there showed him it working.)
youngest DD made her grandma a beetroot chocloate cake yesterday for her birthday it looked scrummy, will have to make one for us.
got a huge list of jobs today so am only allowing myself an hour on the puter
iron school stuff
iron t shirts and tops
jacket pots in for dinner-done
spend an hour tidying upstairs bedroom
load washing machine-done
get washing out on line
hoover hall stairs and landing-done
tidy bathroom
sort weekends magazines out for recycling-done
wash up-done
think thats enought to be going on with today, if i get done i can treat myself to some knitting time,

Morning all,
Thanks for all good wishes, I have spoken to the hospital this morning and Ulick had a good night, although he didn't sleep too well...this is unusual but I think that he slept a lot yesterday so maybe he just wasn't tired enough to sleep. Is still confused, will be getting physiotherapy and speech therapy sorted out later to-day, hopefully they will have the scan result when I go in about 2pm.
Will post any change...thanks again and hugs to anyone in need or want

Good morning all!
Marie - thinking of you and your oh, hope things go well today. x
Jet - good luck with the interview, fingers crossed!
Pink - hope things go smoothly with settling your dd in at uni
Pink1970 - nice to see you again, hope the move goes well and that the money situation improves soon.
Cloudy today, sun not showing much sign of breaking through yet, but I'm ever hopeful! Nodded off on the sofa yesterday, how I love Sunday afternoons! Shame all the ironing was sitting and waiting for me when I woke up.
Made plenty of bread yesterday, so don't need to do that today, need to sort out a menu plan though, as have no idea what I'm cooking this week. Got quite a lot of yellow stickered bits in Sainbugs yesterday, so want to incorporate some of those - got some great looking trout for oh, salmon pieces, chicken, couple of pies and some other bits that I can't remember off hand. Grabbed some organic celery the other day that had been reduced to 5p, made some delicious soup last night, now need to freeze the rest. Also made mushroom pate from half the reduced mushrooms I bought last week, looked at the original price of the mushrooms and it was just over £5, almost fell over, I paid pennies!
House fairly tidy as we all blitzed it on Saturday, so hooray, not much housework needed doing!
Oh, one exciting thing happened, I got dd2 and new hamster, she's called Sammy and is a Syrian one and very very fluffy.
Moliere - I'd have liked to see Gary go, don't know about his hair, it's his attitude that gets me, like the irritating cocky uncle at a wedding doing a dance that wasn't even cool 20 years ago!

Morning all[strike]just[/strike];)
Was up half the night with DD who has one of the worst streaming colds ever, and due to being preg can't take anything except paracetamol. She's gone to work, as she doesn't get paid if she's off, and has had a few days off recently with all the probs. She's a temp and wants to be made permanent, but I can't see it happening tbh:(
Still no supply work for me, but it's always the same in Sept/Oct:rolleyes:
OS wise i've washed all the throw overs and cushion covers, and will put them on the line soon, plus and damp dusting, hoovering and putting the mountain of ironing away.I have decided to just iron stuff when I need it from now on:o
Anyway HUGGLES to all in need esp MARIE AND OH, PINK, SMOKEY, :A

Morning all,
We had a disasterous day y/day, things just went from bad to worse. DH and I went to DD2's house to drop off the dinners I made and collect their dogs from kennels. I left my handbag in the car as we were just popping in. Put the food in the fridge came out and slamed the door the very moment I realised I had left my keys in the kitchen. So, no keys to get back into DD's, no keys to get into the car and no keys to get into our home. We were stranded, couldn't phone a cab as DH didn't have any cash and mine was locked in the car. Walked 2 miles home and sat outside, tried phoning DD1 no answer. About 7 pm I phoned DD2 as she would have landed, I asked her where she was as I needed her to pick us up and let us back into her place.
'' Maldeves'' was her reply. I had got the day wrong. She lands at 7pm tonight
Walked to our local and saw DF's there who lent us some cash for a much needed drink. They offered to put us up for the night but they were meeting other friends and were planing an evening out, so we stayed out with them until 10pm then went to theirs and eventually had something to eat.
I was so worried as DH couldn't take his medication. Hardly slept at all.
Phoned DD1 this morning and she drove down from Bath as she has a key to our place, once in I could get DH's keys. Luckily he also has a key to DD2's so I was able to get in retrieve my keys and drive my car home. Phew!! I'm exhausted. I'm getting so scatty just lately, proberbly as I have so much on my mind at the moment.
I have to collect 2 Labs from kennells and take them to DDs. Then I'm coming home and staying in.
So, For those who have asked about DD2's reaction to the supprise makeover, I will let you know when she gets home..... Tonight!! I can't belive how stupid I was to get the days mixed up
Hope you haven't lost the will to live after trawling through my long post.
At least I don't have to cook as we still have the dinner I made y/day.
MEANMARRIE, I hope your Ulrick is improving. (((hugs))) to you both
SMOKY, MORWENNA AND DSIS, ESSEX DDAD, CANDY DDAD AND DD, JACKIO JOANNASMUM,SILVER and PINK, hope today is kinder to you and yours0 -
Morning all!
Sun is shining again and I so hope I can get out in it today. My OH put the breadmaker on before he left for work so the house smells nice right now.
A friend came round and put up my new bathroom cabinet from Ikea for me yesterday and though I love it, I noticed the doors are slightly 'off' They don't quite meet on the level which is annoying. Plus its covered in fingerprints now and I don't know how to get them off as its shiny aluminium-y metal and I am unsure what to use on it!! Oh well, at least I have a place to store everything now so the bathroom windowsill will be clear again!
Marie - I am also thinking of you
Redruby - I remember making bread rolls at school and eating two of them on the way home and telling my mum we only made six rolls and not eight!
Jet - good luck with the interview today!
Mioliere - I am glad Don stayed on Strictly too - was hoping Gary Rhodes would go as he was so bad!
PinkWinged - good luck to you and your DD. I am sure it will be a sad and yet proud day
MrsTittlemouse - really glad your migraine is getting better. My OH suffers from them periodically and he is out of it for 2 or 3 days usually and then walks around saying he feels like someone has kicked him in the head for the next couple of days. They are so debilitating, so really glad you are feeling better.
Kaat - I have stopped posting over on the GC at the moment 'cos I noticed I was one of the highest posters and wanted to try and avoid getting higher on the list! Silly really, but it IS easier to keep up with now and next month I can pace myself better now I have the guidelines to follow. It's just the adjusting that is throwing everyone off their stride, we will all soon be happy again I am sure.
I hope everyone has a great day.
*Hugs* to anyone who needs them and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating today.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
Hi everyone - just sat down with a coffee having just got back from the shops and calling in at DS1's for some CDs I need for the computer. There was no-one at home so I had to look in his hiding place!
Had the devil of a job parking in the village. One of the car parks is being revamped (which really means that they are making the spaces for the cars even smaller!), so it was closed and it seemed the whole village was out at the same time! I had to call in to the bank and then to Sainsbury's to get some milk; I don't usually buy cook-in sauces but they have their Basic's Curry sauce for 4p a jar (down from 10p!). I bought three jars (last of the big-spenders, me!). It's quite nice and will do for emergencies when I can't be bothered to cook properly. I also bought loads of onions for making soup.
Taplady - my DH is getting into the dancing now! I think he is lusting after Ola! I don't mind because I always thought he was just tolerating the programme before and, as it's three months of Saturday evenings taken up (and Sundays!), I felt a bit guilty but, now that Ola is around to keep him occupied, I don't feel so bad!
Pink-Winged - good luck to DD and to you.
Aimee - you will get her back, I promise! She's turning into a young lady you'll be proud of - just give her time! It's a strange feeling. I've not had daughters but I felt the same with my boys - now they are so grown up and attentive and really appreciate their mum now that they know what running a house and a family is like! I get very spoiled when they visit.
Mrs Tittlemouse - I bet you really enjoyed your weekend; it must have been like when you first met!
Jet - good luck with the interview.
Kaat - I've only read the GC thread a couple of times so I don't know what they are like on there! If I come across a thread that gets nasty I run away from it! This thread is wonderful - no-one ever judges you or disrespects your own particular opinion. I always say this is the best thread on the whole of MSE and that's because we are all so nice!
Hi Pink1970 - good to hear from you. Sounds like you've been really busy!
Candygirl - (((hugs))) to DD.
Well, the ironing is looking at me so I suppose I'd better try and get it done before lunch.
See you later.
