Morning all,
Marie, I am also thinking of you & Ulick today - hope he's a little improved on yesterday & the scan goes alright.
Ladygrim, of course you can presumeAfter all, someone has to each day or we'd never get going!!
Redruby, making bread at school? that's good - when my DD's have done "cookery" in the past, it seems to consist of "take a ready-made pizza base, some grated cheese, a jar of pizza topping, a tin of tuna & a tin of sweetcorn..." NOT cookery in my eyes.....
Hester, exactly as Mioliere says - the job someone does, does not make them a more important person.... I think the new head gives you a good opportunity to change some of the things you aren't happy with - so stand your ground (as I'm sure you will...!!)
Jet, good luck with the interview today!
PinkW, good luck to your DD (and you). I am sure it will be exciting day, if tinged with some sadness for you as well, and you will be skint by the end of it!
I have a feeling this week will hurtle past - I am out & about 3 days of it, including later this morning when I'm off to Kent to see my mate. The other 2 days I want to blitz the house a bit more so that next week (last week of freedom) I can just chill & do some preparatory reading for back to Uni...eek!!
I also need some inspiration if anyone has some they could share with me please. My brother is having a "halloweenish" party - and the theme is famous dead people. I am trying to think of a famous dead, er, curvaceous woman whose costume wouldn't be complicated or expensive. My DD's are going as marilyn monroe, audrey hepburn & grace kelly!! (all very elegant - which I am not) So any suggestions would be hugely welcomed....(doesn't have to be actreses!)
(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))) for everyone needing them & the poorly OH's especially. Have a good day all.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning everyone, popped in earlier today as i am up and waiting for Dyson to arrive and start replacing my gas boiler. Dont know what to do with myself as i will have no elecric, while they move sockets etc.
Anyway good news DD'S OH has started work today, its just temporary for an agency but work is work, and the money will come in very handy for them.
We went to our Country and Western club on Saturday night and DH takes part in the fast draw (shoot out), he won the competition, then proceeded to rip open his left hand on the hammer of the gun, so had to be taken to casualty for 3 stitches, so that put paid to our night out. He is ok though and even went into work yesterday to work with one hand!
Went to booty yesterday and got a popcorn maker for 50p, and a le creuset pan rack for £1.50 so was well pleased.DD did a bootsale and made £50, she still has quite a lot of stuff left so we will take it to a local charity shop this week.
Have made lentil, potato, onion and garlic soup for a quick lunch for me and DD,and did washing yesterday so today i will tidy wardrobes, and pack my ebay parcels ready for posting.
I'm off now to get a cup of coffee, have a good day everybody BSB xx0 -
Hi Squiggly - how about going as Diana Dors? She was curvy and glamorous. Dusty Springfield would be easy - just a beehive hairdo and tons of black eyeliner! Mae West - just keep saying 'come up and see me sometime' or 'is that a gun in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me'! If I think of any more, I'll let you know! I love fancy dress especially now you can get so much stuff from charity shops!

(( hugs )) Marie, hope it all goes Ok today
Jet, good luck with the interview
Well, where did that weekend go, but wasn't it lovely to be able to get outside - I even sat out reading for a while.
Cooked a chicken for dinner last night, but we didn't feel like a full roast dinner, so just had chicken, pasta and some lovely soft bread with garlic spread on it. Anyone want a kiss today :rotfl:
Chicken in something for dinner with veg, so that's easy. Found a recipe for bananas and apricot sauce, so will do that in the Remoska and as I have some double cream to use, it would be wicked not to pour some of that on
Have a great day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Morning everyone,I'm so happy today I've woken up with my migraine on the way out. After four days of it I'm feeling quite droopy.
It's dull but not too chilly here, still quite dark though.Pitch black when I got up at 6.45.
I'm going to do a good clean today and get my washing done.Going to my daughter's later on.
We had a lovely weekend me and MrT.for the first time in years we spent the weekend totally alone. No children or grandchildren, and it was just so relaxing.I suddenly realised that what with my own children and then bringing up my granddaughter we've been responsible for someone else for over 35 years and now we have time to ourselves again and it's glorious I can tell you.I do feel quite guilty though and can't believe where the years have gone.
Meanmarie,I'm thinking of you.
Hardup Hester,I fancy trying that dorset apple bake .I'll look the recipe up later.
Jet wish you luck on the interview.
To everybody else have a good day.Hope the weather stays good.
Just looked out the window and the rain's arrived.Oh well you can't win em all.
Take care xxx0
