OK Guys i have been speaking to Claudia and she has asked me to tell everyone the following after asking for further details on behalf of everyone at MSE:
Hi Andrew,
Just that we are so, so sorry.
Everyone that is registered will be receiving an email shortly with the opportunity to fill out a request form. We will be reserving the rooms on behalf of those requests on a first come, first serve basis (based on the time on the email).
The email will explain all.
Thank you again for your understanding.
Claudia

1) Offering a shockingly good deal at a fixed date/time which you announce in advance will result in traffic way, way, WAY over 100 times your norm. Even if just your normal visitors pop along to have a look, they will be hitting refresh every few seconds generating easily 50 times their normal traffic to your site. Add into the fact that your deal has been posted on every money saving site for at least a month, I would have budgeted for a minimum of 1000 times more hits than usual. AT LEAST.
2) Offering first come, first served to email customers is crazy because of the quick reaction required to bag a deal. The reason it is such a terrible idea is that all of your rooms are likely to have gone before the bulk of your mailshot emails have even been delivered. Basically, those at the top of your bulk email list are going to be very happy, those at the bottom probably won't get an email until 15 minutes after the last room has gone.
The best way to carry out this offer again would be to invest in VASTLY more bandwidth for the duration of the offer, and do it at a set time again. Do it properly, please, don't compound your error by ballsing it up again, just in a slightly different way!0 -
These people really don't understand anything about how the internet works. If you are reading this LHW people:

I believe (again from reading on other forums where people have now begun to get attachments) that:
The form will be emailed out over the course of this afternoon/early evening.
It is first come first served, but...
The forms are to be emailed to the address in the email at 12 GMT tomorrow. The first come first served is based on the time your email reaches them, and the availability of the rooms at your chosen hotels. However, I believe there is the option of choosing more than one hotel, and also saying that your dates are flexible, so this may mean more of us are successful.
Who sees themselves sitting tomorrow, listening to the speaking clock with their attached form all ready to go, hitting send at the third stroke? :rotfl:
That being said, I am yet to receive the form, or any response other than the automated response which is not really doing anything good for them in my eyes.0 -
Didn't we establish that 12noon gmt was 1pm?0

Perhaps all is not lost. Just saw this email reply on another forum that someone got...can't verify whether it's true or not though. My email is still unanswered.
" Unfortunately, we've had to suspend the sale due to overwhelming demand.
Although we were aware of the traffic volume and made preparations ahead
of time to accommodate it, the volume of traffic nonetheless outstripped
our enhanced capacity. In lieu of the online process, we will be running
an alternative email based sale shortly, as most of the inventory is
still unsold.
You should be receiving an email from us shortly describing the
specifics, but the details you've provided in terms of your intentions
are exactly what we are going to be asking of our consumers. With this
in mind, I'll try to get your request into the queue.
With sincere apologies for your inconvenience,
Robert Cantave
Director of Marketing Technology
The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd."
My email I sent at 1.35pm went unanswered too, I have just sent another one at 5.23pm stating this... here's hoping for some response...any response :mad:0 -

Prepare to create another angry group of people tomorrow who end up sending a couple of seconds before 12pm and thinking they should be in on the deal. And another for those who don't understand timezones. Are they publishing the current date/time of their SMTP server anywhere? Otherwise this is a complete crapshoot...0 -

I have just got a semi-generic response to my last email. Still have unanswered questions, but Claudia has confirmed they are sending the emails out in batches and should be received soon.
Considering my email is near the end of the alphabet I reckon I'll be one of the last!
However if I don't have it by the morning I'll be highly unimpressed because close of business is ages away for New York yet.
There are no indications they'll be releasing date/time stamps - so I guess it's just a case of pray that they are accurate.0 -
I am confused!!!
It is 5.38pm now. Is that 5.38pm BST or GMT? I thought the UK was GMT?!0
