Just noticed that the 1928 status site has been updated as follows:

WELCOME TO THE 80th ANNIVERSARY USD 19.28 SALE STATUS PAGE

Thank you for your continued interest in The Leading Hotels of the World's USD 19.28 Sale. We have created this dedicated site to keep you informed of all the latest developments relating to this 80th anniversary offer.
We have made significant progress on processing the many thousands of hotel request forms we received last Thursday. Congratulations to those of you who have already received a confirmation!

Regarding your reservation, please note the following:
    • You may have received a confirmation for a hotel that was not your first, second, or third choice. This is due to your indication of flexibility.
    • If you selected two nights for a specific hotel and your confirmation is only for one, it is due to the limited accommodation availability at the USD 19.28 rate. We felt that it was better and more considerate to provide you with one night at this very special rate rather than nothing at all.
    • You may see that the hotel has availability at regular rates during the dates you requested and were not granted. The USD 19.28 rate is based on a limited room allocation by each hotel. It does not mean that all available rooms are being sold at the promotional rate.
    • In the interest of data privacy, we did not require credit card information to reserve the room. Nevertheless, your reservation is indeed valid.
    • Changes are not permitted on any confirmed reservations and you will be required to show proof of identity upon arrival at the hotel.
    • Should you intend on arriving after 6:00 pm, please contact the hotel directly to provide credit card details to guarantee the room.
    • If you choose to cancel your reservation, please contact the hotel directly.
When we have allotted all of the available inventory and completed the reservations process, we will post an update here.

  • hi, dont know if this is already on the thread, but those of you who have been lucky enough to be chosen but unfortunately cannot go, the booking is non transferable, so its a case of either going or cancelling. i was hoping to pass my good luck on to someone else (i accidentally hit the 'any hotel' box in my panic and for the first time in my life was lucky enough to win but the hotel is abroad and not what i expecting - which was london). im gonna try and go anyway by jove.
My number was 56x - they are definitely doing it by matching up the lowest number to the specified dates and hotels, then going through the rest of the lowest numbers and checking off people like me, who ticked 'anywhere'. then any one who got the later numbers will be getting the leftovers. i thought i was well out of it, as i thought my number was quite high - but i certainly wouldnt rule out any 600 and 700 numbers IF you picked ANY hotel at ANY date. well - i dont know if that is definite but it makes more sense (to me) than other theories.

I have got a reservation for TSCHUGGEN GRAND HOTEL in the Swiss Alps for next week for 2 nights - absolutely thrilled!!!! I was lucky that I could tick the any hotel in europe, any time selection and just hoped for the best.

My reservation number was 6** and the email came through at about 7pm last night.

Hurrah!!!!!! Now, does anyone know of cheap flights to Zurich?! Haha.

I love Switzerland, went last December for the first time and it was so so beautiful. You'll have an amazing time.
Ps: Loved it even more as we got engaged there (it was a big surprise!)
  • Just received a confirmation for the Grand Hotel Quellenhof in Switzerland - 2 nights midweek at the end of November. Would really love to go but I can't get away during the week

It looks lovely and normally costs 700-800 euros per night! :(

My timestamp was 551 and I ticked the box for anywhere in Europe at any time. Was really hoping for Gleneagles or Killarney but sadly it isn't to be.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear! :j

I was lucky enough to get 2 nights in Gleneagles in Nov! I am so excited - just got to pack the kids off to granny and grandad. Does anyone know if I will be billed for the payment or do I pay when I arrive?

CONGRATULATIONS APETRIE7!! First person i've heard get a Gleneagles room too. That was my first choice - still OVER THE MOON with Killarney though :j . Wonder if more Gleneagles bookings will be sorted now then. I'd picked December (and as my first choice) so maybe they're only doing Nov dates?

Sorry - meant to say i believe you pay on arrival. However - looking into it now i can't find where i read that
  • I managed to get a room for two nights on the outskirts of Rome but it's next monday and tuesday! No way Hubby could get the days off with so little notice and I thought I'd have to cancel but I rang around friends and family and I'm now going with me Mum. Really hope the hotel will be kind and let us have a twin room instead but even if they don't we should have a lovely time. Couldn't get cheap flights, probably as it's so close, but I don't care cos this time next week I'll be in Rome :D
I got the email saturday but to the work address so didn't pick it up til today, can't remember exactly what my number was but it was around 570, Rome was my second choice but I did tick any dates on all three hotel choices. Hope the rest of you hear something soon.
  • ooo u will love gleneagles apetrie, that was my first choice too, can i ask what ur time stamp was and when u got ur email??? im clutching at straws now, but put in nov dates and my timestamp was 510. i live in hope!!

I needed a twin room for the hotel I got in London as I'm also taking my mum - Mr Agent C thought it'd be a bit too posh for him!! - so I emailed the hotel and they have changed the booking to a twin room, no problem. I loved Rome - hope you have a great time!
