Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks still provide Maestro and in the new year they will offer the new debit Mastercard to some customers. I cannot help but think that Maestro's days are numbered.0

Visa debit has been the favoured choice of card for many in the UK, it was around before Switch, Solo and Maestro were forced upon us, the merchant systems were already in place for the Visa network and it wasn't until around 2003/2004 when Solo started to be accepted more, Maestro does not appeal to me personally as Visa is a much more established and recognised tool, it also has better aesthetic properties as well...Maestro look as !!!! as it sounds so the sooner Banks move away from it the betterSince when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Name one. I've been using Maestro for years and never found one company that doesn't accept it. This includes bookies and van rental too.0 -
Valve's Steam service doesn't accept Maestro, for one. Nor do most US stores.
In the UK however, you'll be hard pressed to find a retailer that takes cards but not Maestro.0 -

I've bought plenty of stuff from the US before. I think I just have inserted my details into the Mastercard option. It's the same system I think.0 -
