Nadnad, I agree with Daphne and Susan, and I didn't use any vitamins for DS1 or 2 even though I BFed well past 6 months.
I'm not a medical professional but I wouldn't think your LO being poorly recently has anything to do with his iron levels. It's that time of year - we've all had non-stop colds and coughs too for the last couple of months. The joys of having small children!

My lo was prescribed abidec as he was prem. He had the drops. I don't think it had iron in it. I'll check later. xx0

First time poster on this thread. Sounds like a lovely place.
I needed some advice on buying a high-chair. I've left it quite late, and LO is already 8 months. So far he's been sitting with us at the table in his pram. Long story cut short is we're moving country soon and that's why we havent bought it. But having looked at the local shops where we're moving, there's not much choice etc so I want to buy one to take with me.
Hi - nice to meet you.
We've got this one which is suitable from as soon as baby can sit up unaided. You can use it with the tray or without and pushed up to the table, and the seat has two height positions. It straps on most dining chairs, and folds up so you can take it with you if you go visiting people.

That's the first link I found in Google so you might find it cheaper elsewhere if you shop around. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I asked about high chairs on here a couple of months ago, and eventually decided to go with this.
Space was an issue for us (didn't have space to store high chair), so found this handy as it fitted onto a chair (which was already in use) and is portable.
I bought mine off of ebay for about £22 (delivered).
I think the thing with over cautious in-laws is that BLW food is just so alien to them. However, if your baby is 8m old, surely you can convince them that even by this age, they themselves had started to give their own babies finger foods (4m puree, 6m mashed, 8 solid pieces etc).
the BLW also gives interesting reading as to what is gagging and choking and my older children are a classic when their dad used to get into a panic. they would ask in a calm voice, is she making a noise or not ? Noise. Okay then, she is just gagging .... DH still gets nervous but he is much better about it now.
Welcome, btw0 -

I have to admit i thought in a snobbish way that the ikea one was "cheap" and my bubs would have the best, so I got the chicco polly as its won a squllion awards cost me about £75 off ebay BN but I haven't used it for about 2months now! I went to ikea the other day and had lunch there, christopher was quite happy in the provided high chair (as pic above) it was just the right height for the table and was obviously easy to clean. these days christopher eats at a little table and chair (not surprisingly from Ikea!) with another on the way and the chair my mum borrowed from a friend having to go back for her new LO, we got a little booster seat like the ones mentioned and she's got a table n 2 chair set from Ikea ready too.
I started Christopher on the crusts from my morning toast and he still tries to steal them now0 -
hee hee just gave Oz some toast fingers. he was all bemused and managed to eat one. then after the last bite he shivered like he's sucked a lemon and wouldnt take any more funny little man lol. so then i tried him on some very ripe pear and rather than try to pick it up he stuck his head in the bowl and tried to eat it that way, then he gave up. but slowly slowly catchee monkey, and i'm sure we'll get there, maybe when he's feeling a bit better.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Im really, really annoyed  sorry its long....
Natasha is 10 months old but still in our room as im just not ready to move her yet. We live in a newbuild so the rooms are quite small, we bought her a very small and cheap cot for our room and a much better cotbed for her own room, both from Mothercare.
Woke up this morning as usual to Natasha making noises in her cot, my husband (had to say that, only been married 2 weeks!) looked over at her first, muttered something like "jesus" and dashed over to her. Obviously i jumped up in a panic wondering what was happening and there she was sitting with both legs swinging through the bars, HOLDING AND BANGING ONE OF THE BARS
Each morning she is usually standing up and the only thing i can think of is that whilst trying to stand up she has pulled out a bar. Looking at the cot now there are 2 more bars that look like they are loose and not in properly.
In my mind, no matter how strong your baby is, this really shouldnt happen. She could of done herself a injury swinging that around especially if she were in her own room, she could of even got stuck, or even got herself through the bars
What would you do? write to Mothercare or take it further?
These are the cots i bought:

That's scary ella. I would definitely complain to Mothercare and see what they say, then take it further if necessary.
I'm pleased Natasha is ok though. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Thanks Becles, still cant beleive it just came apart - she is only a dainty little baby, and although strong, not really strong enough to demolish her cot lol
I started a thread as i thought more people may see it: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1322989:heart: I love my gorgeous little girl0
