Good for you Keeley Kat. Doesn't it feel good to be out?!

Feeling pretty ropey today and had a bizarre sprouting overnight. I reckon I could be further on that I thought, esp. given the test came up positive straight away and I did it a week before I'm due (not actually due til Friday coming).

Got a big night out tonight, so am already making noises about Imogen feeling ill and me perhaps coming down with it. Just done Pilates so managed to knobble the teacher on her way into the building. But might have to cough up to my boss this pm in order to hide my non-drinking tonight!

Could you say you are on antibiotics or something and can't drink if you don't want to tell people yet?

Pleased to hear you got out keeleykat. Hope you enjoyed it and are going back next time.

Happy birthday to all the little ones :j

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone - almost feel like it's my birthday!!

We spent the day at the local Wildlife Park as we wanted to do something special to mark the occasion and Archie is too young for a party. (and life is too hectic at the moment as we are still in tumoil from when the ceiling came down). We had a really nice day and then came home to a hastilly decorated home-made cake which cost as much as a shop bought one but was special 'cause it was made with mummy love :D.

Archie loved his ONE toy (we reined our natural generosity impulses in as we already have more than enough to pick up at the end of each day and Archie has plenty of big brothers toys waiting for him in the loft) and he spent the last hour before bed walking around behind his thomas the tank engine ride on and putting and taking out shoes from the little seat cubby.

Everyone else gave us clothes too so :T .

Izoom - yes you are right I'm very pleased that Archies's b'day is now - DS1'S is at the end of Nov and is just soooooo difficult every year...Xmas is coming and all the toys are suddenly mega expensive and half the possible birthday venues are closed ....we did way too many softland type parties because of that. Thankfully he is now old enough to "just" take 3 friends out for cinema and pizza ...BLISS!! :rotfl:

Celia is six weeks old today! Hooray! Will it get easier now? We've had her six week growth spurt for the last week and we've both had thrush for (I think) about a fortnight, we got medication on Monday (when I realised what it was, she has very little yeast visable in her mouth, I'm glad I accidentally came upon the other symptoms!) and it finally seems to be helping, she slept for six hours straight last night which is a vast improvement on the 20 minute naps she's been having for the last week!

Still, it's meant I've got the hang of feeding lying down so I could rest (admittedly I only worked that out yesterday annoyingly!) :-)

tsstss7 - glad you had a great day. I wanted to make a mummy cake, but hey, slightly too busy, so had six granny cakes instead. Besides everything I ever make is laden with chocolate, so not too baby friendly

Fritha - it always gets easier, until the next mystery (teething, growth spurts, illnesses). I found huge changes (ahh, hindsight) at 6 weeks and 3 months and 6 months and 9 months. Until I couldn't call him a baby anymore... Huge changes in how I was feeling too , wreck of a woman that I am.

NAPS! In case I don't get round to reading the baby books, how do naps evolve? We had a 2-4 hour nap anywhere from 11-1pm every day, but this has been getting more and more erratic. It's half two now and he still won't get his head down. Do they stop napping in daytime altogether?

  • Oh god if Elliot dropped his naps at this age I'd be inconsolable. My friend's 22 month old still has 1.5 hours a day, Elliot has between 45 minutes and 2 hours

It is getting easier :o Elliot slept for a lonnnggg time the other night, he went 6 hours between feeds and i was amazed! lol. Putting his amount of milk up by an ounce has helped loads. Hes now going approx four hours between feeds in the day and usually more at night (apart from last night he must have been growing as he only went 3 hours and was hungry!)

Exactly! We need time out from all the... loving and great mothering...
He's just conked out now! It's nearly 6pm. Oh no little man, you're going to sleep at half seven, no earlier. I'm letting him have 10 minutes and then uppity up up.
