My MIL said something weird the other day - I asked what our little niece would like for a present and she replied "It's not what she wants, it's what her father will let her have" ! So I asked what if I give her something he doesn't approve of? "He'll just put it in the garage" she replied. We're talking about any present, not just big ones. Is that not weird? My OH has no idea what our son has, neither does he care, as long as he's not tripping over it too often. I'm annoyed that I can't get the girl something I like, but will be dictated to by BIL as to type of present and amount spent. Really puts me off buying anything. MIL is going along with this and buys niece everything, but keeps it in her car for when she looks after them.
Oh I have a worse story than that. Parents of one child I know slightly don't give all the presents received but pass them on to charities etc because they think it's all too much.

Fair enough on one level, but then they make the child write thank you letters for things they've never seen! I don't even know if they've explained what they've done and why, so one confused child.

i'd like the option to stop if I wanted esp as he's starting biting me (thought he'd took my nipple off last night!)
Take the boob away, put him down, walk away, leave him to howl until your eyes have stopped watering, come back and try again, once. If he bites again that feed, he's probably full and playing, even if he hasn't been feeding long.

It's probably a comfort thing now rather than getting much nutrition, by the sounds of it. If you think he's still thirsty, give water, but no more boob.

In an ideal world let someone else put him to bed or whatever so that he doesn't smell the milk.

Happy birthday to all the little ones.
Re: christmas, the family normally ask us what they could get for the boys,MIL has bought Adam a couple of grobag type sleeping bags and people are finally getting the message not to buy Jamie loads of toys, esp as we move in 10 days, it's going to be bad enough sorting out the ones he's got now never mind a load more at xmas too.
I'm not going to go mad at xmas for Adam as his birthday is 10 days before christmas so i'll pick a few things up and keep one or two back for his birthday.
He can now stand up holding on to the sofa but not for long as he ends up on his bottom. Went for his Piedro boots to be fitted and they were a little big on him so we have to wait for another pair, hopefully once we get these he might start trying to take steps.
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.

I know I said it the other day but

:j Happy Birthday Archie for today:j

LO had a great day at nursery yesterday, they had his cake and took some pictures. Unfortunately one of the other children was giving him a hug and then decided to try and bite his face !! Lovely birthday present but at least he's not having photos done at nursery this week. Present wise we only ended up with 4 toys altogether and only 2 of them need batteries so not bad going I suppose, the rest was either money or clothes.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.
