Maz, Poppy received the 2008 coins for her christening which I thought was a lovely keepsake.
And she has far too many toys already . Luckily my family have always given her JL vouchers/money as gifts so we can buy what we need as we go along.

I will be struggling with cake mix myself as Archie's is on Wednesday and I want to make the first one (that or pop up to tesco's late tuesay for a replacement).
Decided not to make a cake for Henry but bought one from Sainsbury's plus one to take to nursery as well. (bad mother putting him in nursery on his birthday... he'll probably enjoy it more actually)
Happy birthday to Archie for Wednesday in case I dont manage to say it then.xxMum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Happy birthday to all LOs. Doesn't time fly?!
On sterilising, I'm sure my HV said we could stop at 8 months. Well, we did anyway and she's still going strong. Imogen's been on a cup since 6 months and she now has her milk in one of those large Tommee Tippee cups with the valve removed so it's free flow.
I'm off work tomorrow as time off in lieu cos I've been working so much recently. Imogen's going to nursery (we pay for it!) and then to my mum's tomorrow evening until Saturday. We've got loads of stuff to do as the builders start on our extension a week today. Tomorrow we're off to Ikea, then out for a few drinks for a leaving do. I'm at an awards do on Wednesday, and away with work on Thursday. Finally a night in on Friday and then she's back, phew!
Am feeling better today but was pretty ropey yesterday pm. Actually thought I was going to be sick - which is a new one. Just have to keep eating and I feel fine.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Oh don't get me started on Christmas and all the crap toys.
Just had an email from SIL asking what the boys would like. I gave her sensible (and inexpensive) ideas - e.g. DS1 is into Magnetix etc. She emails me back to say she got some sort of (crappy plasticy) robot for DS1. Well what was the point of asking me then?????  :wall:
No idea what to get for Alex. He doesn't need any toys, and will get showered with rubbish by the in-laws.
Grrrrr I would love a family who gave us JL gift vouchers I could spend on useful things!!! :rolleyes:0 -
Not sure what to get Charlotte either!
My Mam takes her to a toddler group on a Monday morning. It's in my old school and some of the children are children of my old school friends, and all the grannies have a natter! Anyway, she seems to like playing with the dolls and kitchen stuff.
My Mam has already bought her a Baby Anabel, so I'm thinking of getting her a pushchair and cot for it, and possibly a tea set or some other kitchen/cleaning type role play toys. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Didnt mean to start such a big thing when I asked about sterilising but it has been interesting to read other peoples opinions/ ideasMum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

Happpy Birthday Henry!
(I added an extra P in the happy to make up for the missing one in Daphne's post)
My MIL said something weird the other day - I asked what our little niece would like for a present and she replied "It's not what she wants, it's what her father will let her have" ! So I asked what if I give her something he doesn't approve of? "He'll just put it in the garage" she replied. We're talking about any present, not just big ones. Is that not weird? My OH has no idea what our son has, neither does he care, as long as he's not tripping over it too often. I'm annoyed that I can't get the girl something I like, but will be dictated to by BIL as to type of present and amount spent. Really puts me off buying anything. MIL is going along with this and buys niece everything, but keeps it in her car for when she looks after them.:wall:0 -
Hello.
Don't know if it will help anyone, but I've just posted a code for free postage on orders from https://www.maternityblush.com. I've bought cariwell maternity stuff from them before and they sell hot milk stuff too.
