money_maker wrote: »Hi ladies !!
I will be joining you all shortly (hopefully sooner rather than later !!) and would be grateful for some advise from you !!!
Although already a mother of a 6 year old, she was fed on SMA and I really didnt like it much, I think it gave her constipation !!
Any of you using formula recommend one that you find works best for you and your little one?
A friend suggested Aptimil, but I dont know anyone who has used it so am not sure
Thanks in advance for any help
Hi there money maker,
we've tried hipp organic, cow and gate, cow and gate comfort, aptimil and aptimil for hungry babies, before sticking with the aptimil for hungry babies. I know you're not meant to chop and change, but he was in discomfort.... I really like the aptimil for hungry babies, and Fergus has been much happier since we switched over. Happy to give more thoughts if helpful...

weezel,
Love the pic by the way !!
Thanks for all the help with this girls. Might just pick one and see how it goes !!
Our hospital only gives SMA and Cow and Gate so if you want to use anything else, you have to bring in your own. I was thinking of just using the SMA in the hospital as I am having a section, so will be in for a couple of days and it would mean bringing in steralised bottles to use and having to buy those ready made individual packets in advance !!!The two best things I have done with my life

Susan - I like this bit of that articleIn the UK, there have only ever been six cases of infant botulism, none of which implicated British honey. In the most recent case, in 2001, contaminated formula milk was to blame. You can see why beekeepers might feel a bit disgruntled.
Glad I usually get UK honey
AM - are you still producing milk? apparently the best thing for sticky eyes is a couple of drops of breast milk - it has natural antiseptic qualities0 -
Sami - before I pop off to bed, earlier on preg thread you mentioned yummy slummy mummy thread/post. Where can I find it? Ta muchly in advance!
Sorry, so rude of me to butt in - please may I join you all here?

Despite having older kids, therefore experience, still new things come along to throw us - looking forward to joining in if I can keep up with you all.

Evening all... Injections didn't go too bad - lots more tears than the last 2 lots, but not surprising really, having 3 injections at once
She had a bit of a temperature this evening (.4 of a degree, so nothing major) so she's had a bit of calpol. I'm hoping she will be ok in the morning so we can go out to sing songs and meet up with the post natal group. (Although if she is being clingy in some ways we're better being out and about, as I cuddle her pretty much the whole time she's not in her buggy that way. At home she has to share me with the washing up
)
It's all so confusing these conflicting food recommendations. I've been told baby rice, fruit and veg until 6 months, and then other stuff after then, but no honey till 1 year, so I'm going to follow that. And only introduce one new thing at a time just in case!
And MFD (I think it was you anyway) - what a tall boy. Izzy was 64cm last time I measured her (about 2 weeks ago) and she is 18 weeks!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Hi all - I am going to work tomorrow for a meeting so I will be out of the house 7.30am until 1.30pm
To be honest I am terrified! Both of leaving Benjamin for that long, and of having to talk in something other than my sing-song voice for a morningI really hope I remember what it is like to be the intelligent career woman I once was!!
Hubby will be doing the early shift and MIL is coming to take over about 9.30ish...I have been expressing like crazy and hope that he is the lovely morning baby that he usually is for me (mornings are our fun times!)
Wish me (and hubby and MIL) luck!
