...i've been putting a teaspoon of gripe water in his bottles (my nans advice - she used to do it with me apparantly) the past few days to see if they make any difference, i wouldnt say he has colic but he has seemed very uncomfortable. he is burping easier after feeds and his poops are more frequent and slightly more watery whereas they have been quite thick paste up til now. he does seem less uncomfortable so i'm going to carry on i think.

i hope elle and rhys are both doing ok xx

MFD, what a whopper benjamin is!!

why cant they have honey under 1 year old?
Em - Thick paste is how they should be not watery :undecided
My HV compares them to toothpaste :p

Honey can have botulism in it which is why under 1's aren't allowed it
Honey sometimes contains a spore of the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. This can cause a rare form of food poisoning (botulism) in babies and, very occasionally, in adults. Babies under six months are most vulnerable. The symptoms of botulism appear around eight to 36 hours after consuming the honey or other contaminated food. Symptoms may include constipation, listlessness and lack of appetite. If you suspect your baby may be affected, seek medical help straight away. Although cases of botulism in babies are very rare, it is recommended that you don't give your baby honey until after his first birthday.

There are spores in it which can cause infant botulism. Just googled and apparently not everyone agrees about it.

reading some of your posts about your OH's scares me - mine is so hands on that its actually me that cant get him to bed in the evening! i honestly dont think i could cope if it wasnt for him. we bath seth together in the evening, then OH dries and PJ's him and gives him his last feed and puts him down. obviously i am capable of all of the above :rotfl: but he always wakes when i move him!
My OH has always bathed Alice except for December when he works evening shifts and he always did the 10/10.30pm feed too.

    Hello all!
Hope everyone is ok, I'm ok.
Not really been online much lately, Got Ryan weighed today and he now weighs 11lb 10oz so has put on almost 1lb in a week!
He's doin really well though, although he still has a sticky eyes, and washing them aint helping, neither is the teabag trick.

I done a clearout of his drawres and wardrobe the other day. and I have a massive bag full of clothes he wont fit, majority of them are never worn so might stick them on ebay, I'll keep the neutral babygrows and his vests for the next one, and also a things like the going home outfit etc.
I have him in sleepsuits majority of the time, only really put him in an outfit if we go visiting or somewhere special, I wasnt like that with Aston, but this time I just dont really see much point.

OH takes Ryan in the bath with him, I dont though.
I bath him on his own if I do, but OH does it most of the time, and i just take him out and let OH get on with his bath lol

Sami-You are soo great with your little bits of info and links!

Feeling- I coslept, I hadn't planned to, it was just the only way for us to get some sleep. I felt bad about doing it, frightened I'd smother him. I wish now that I'd just relaxed and enjoyed it. He stil comes into bed with me when he's difficult to settle x

DS is now wearing an eye patch for 2 hours a day to correct a mild squint. He's not been doing it for long, but is very good at tolerating it. Fingers crossed he'll show some improvement at his next appt in about 6 weeks.

Hi MM - not long now!! :D
I'm not sure what the differences are between formula milks - but the only one i've ever heard being recommended by other mums is Aptimil - so maybe it is better than others.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be about soon.

    Hi MM
Cow and gate and aptimal are what I've heard.
I use cow and gate with Ryan, and did with Aston.
Went to HV today and asked about Ryan being sickly (turns out it's postetting(sp?) and when i told her what millk he's on she said ''oh thats not one we hear of many problems with'' or something along those lines.
I just guess it's down to the individual baby, I've never tried SMA, or any of the others.
