MFD - congrats to you and benjamin on your modeling roles
you both of course will look amazing. can't wait to see the pics
emlou - your little one is only a week older than my little girl. reassuring to see a pattern in the ages (as also MFD said she had gone through the same thing)
i had my girl crying (and screaming too) for a good hour and a half tonight. over tired again!!! i have just read the part in the Baby Whisper book about sleeping and it sees i am doing EVERYTHING on her 'not to do' list. oops.
she has just woken up and is talking to her mobile and flinging her arms around.
oh, has anyone got any recommendations on the swaddling blankets available? i just use a sheet but am thinking if it's worth getting something else.0 -
I DONT PLAY WITH POO!!!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
thats a great idea scruffy!!! will def be buying bigger babygrows tom as he thinks its so funny??? twice today he has done it???? i could have murdered him lol! and as soon as he hears me shout he sits in the naughty spot PMSL! we only started this yesterday and i think he knows we mean business!
ok i am the worlds worst mother, i have put my dog up for sale as all the houses we are looking at wont accept herthink it will be easier to do now than in a few weeks when we are trying to pack and get organised. i have cried lots today over it but cant see anyway around it. she has only been on the site a few hours and i have had around 25 phone calls and 6 emails? i put her up at quite a bit of money as i dont want her to go to just anyone and cant believe the response. the kids have been helping to decide who they like and we should have a couple coming tom who also have a dog the same. I feel so awful but dont know any other way around it. it seems to be one of those days:(
What's for you won't go past you0 -
Hiya
Thanks for the advice, After a lot of moaning this afternoon I dug the baby rice out and my little man wolfed it down! He had 4 teaspoons mix worth of it, I was quite impressed how he managed to polish it off! He was nearly biting my hand of for it lol. I think I will just trust my instincts. I say he's so ready. Thanks for the advice!

My eldest went through a poo stage. Wrapping a length of parcel tape round his waist over the nappy fastenings soon put a stop to that
Or try putting the nappy on back to front as it's more difficult to unfasten from the back.
Nice to meet you moriamber and pleased your baby enjoyed his first meal. I'm firmly of the belief that it's best to follow your mother instincts as you know what is best for your baby. Here I go again on my own....0 -
hmm..trying something new.
have just feed my little girl, she didn't take her full bottle (although that is nothing new these days). instead of nursing her until she is in a deep sleep, i have laid her in her crib. i have wrapped her up (not her hand as she likes sucking her hands - this is the first time i haven't put her hands in when swaddling her).
i am trying to see if she will go off to sleep on her own.
however, she is now staring up at her mobile again. is the mobile going to be a distraction to getting her to sleep?0 -
AF - I've asked for this one http://www.bumpto3.com/product.aspx?DISPLAYCAT=search&CAT=Products&PID=AG108&searchKEY=swaddle&PG=1&ST=0&ASC1=1&ASC2=0
no idea if it'll work tho! It can be used for swaddling with arms in or out I think.
Caz - i want ur doggie!! How bad is it that I'm wishing away the next year coz thats when we've agreed to get a dog - it'll be either a anniversary or b-day pressie0 -
My dog is not well. He had the runs yesterday and he's a long haired border collie so it all hangs in the hair round his back end and tail. I had to shampoo his back end twice yesterday.
Got up this morning and there was poo all over the landing, so I've had to clean that up and shampoo the carpet and his back end again.
Are you still looking forward to getting a dog Sami? :rotfl:
He's not normally ill. I'll starve him for 24 hours and give him scrambled eggs or something tomorrow and he'll be fine. He's normally pretty good and he's lovely with Charlotte and the boys. I miss him so much when we go on holiday. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Wow Becles, having shampooed the back end of a dog by 8.30 on a Sunday morning is ... an achievement, if not one I aspire to! Bad luck.0

Morning all... we seem to be having a sleepy baby day today. It is gone 9:30 and she is still in bed. I got to sleep till 9am - unheard of! And particularly fantastic, seeing as we DID watch Eurovision, so I was up till midnight
. (For the record I voted for Ukraine with the camp centurians:T)
She didn't have any naps yesterday at all, so she must be making up for it today. I thought it would be hard getting her down last night, as our friends turned up while we were doing the bath/massage/yoga thing, then she played with them for an hour before we went off to bed. She was having so much fun with them she wasn't interested in Mummy at all! Got her down at about 8:30, then she woke up just before I went to bed properly screaming. I think she just wanted a cuddle really, as not even 5 minutes feed and she was off again. Then we were up for an hour or so at 5am, and she's still asleep now! I don't want to wake her up, but she has been in that nappy since about 7pm yesterday . I'm sure one day won't hurt her bum too much.
Anyway, best crack on with the washing up while the going is good. (How can having 3 people round to watch Eurovision create SO much washing up. We used nearly all the glasses in the house, and half the rest of the kitchen too!)Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009
