Forgot to say earlier we're trying to get Imogen dry overnight. She is about 5/7 days anyway, so we thought we'd have (another) go with pants not nappies at night. We've put a potty in her room in case she needs to go in the night. She wee-d in it just after she went to bed and yelled to let us know, then over night passed without incident, hurrah! Tonight she's just yelled to tell us that she's done a wee and poo in her potty - cue DH running upstairs to wipe her bum before she puts skidmarks in her pretty fairy pants - PMSL! At least she gets out of bed, wees, then gets back in on her own. Fingers crossed we can crack it.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090

Thanks for all the replies and encouragement everyone, Made me feel quite welcome! :T
I have given him some baby rice again today and he slept for an hour and a half at lunch which he hasn't done in ages as usually wakes up after 45 mins from every nap so i'm well happy!:j
He was also much happier this afternoon and lasted 3 hours no problem between his feeds which is great!!
I can't help but feeling a bit naughty for starting giving him solids without my health visitor or doctors adviceShould I feel like this? Should I just bring this up that I have started weaning with my health visitor? Am I facing being told off? lol
My son is breastfed and I had been giving him hungry baby milk at night to try and help him last longer but he seemed to be worse on this and woke up earlier than if it was my milk! Lol
Our room is pitch black and I have too removed the cot mobile so there are no interesting distractions when my son goes to bed although this does not stop him babbling and squeling to himself at 4am ♥ Mummy to a gorgeous little boy born 11/01/09 ♥0 -
Amber Don't feel bad about starting him early or not discussing with you HV. I started at 17 weeks and also didn't speak to my HV about it as I disliked my HVs so went with instincts. And has done her no harm......... oh or wait a minute maybe thats why shes 17 months and not walking or talking :rotfl::rotfl:
Caz glad your Pooch seems to have settled in well.
Lu T I had to laugh at DH worried about the fairy pants:rotfl::rotfl:and well done ImogenEveryone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -

Current advice is not to worry about jabs at all :

evening ladies,
thanks for your all comments re swaddling.
MFD - i did manage to get bubs to sleep without too much cuddling. she was still awake just before midnight (having put her down at 11pm) and i gave her a cuddle for about 5 mins. put her back in the crib and then she must have gone off (i did) and she didn't wake until just before 6am which was good.
to be honest, i would be more than happy to cuddle her to sleep every night but i am just worried that is not the best thing for her and i'm being selfish. like you, i'd cuddle her every minute of every day if i could.
i have put her down to sleep now (well at just gone 10pm) and she is has been staring at her mobile the whole time with her arms and legs going (have her in a sleeping bag tonight). she is still talking to the mobile. maybe i have to take it down and see if she goes off quicker.
she has been quite sleepy today for a change.
although, she is still not taking full bottles at her feeds. during the day she can take only 30ml to 60ml. getting her weighed next tuesday to see if she still putting on weight.0 -
Sorry about your dog cazcoob, but it must be reassuring knowing she's gone to a lovely home. The new people sound like they will really look after her. Can't imagine what you are going through, but I know it would break my heart if I had to give Bob up. Take care xx
Was laughing earlier. The boys were bickering and Charlotte marched up to them and said in a very stern voice "oh man, stop it Josh and James" :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -
aww little bossy Charlotte
Chris is just the same! in-laws dogs where grumbling over a chew toy thing, neither would give it up and Chris got his pointy finger out and shouts "no! Stop fighting! Put that down!"He tells us off for talking too much/loudly at the table too. I just love toddlers! - they're so funny!
