With Alice it's reading. Although I do like to encourage reading I do sometimes refuse to read to her like when I've spent half an hour continuously reading out loud.

Oh I get that too. Everytime I think I'll just have a few minutes sit down in the chair, she climbs onto my lap with a book.

Does Alice insist you read the same books over and over? Charlotte has a lot of books and she's in library so we get new books from there often, but she still has a select few that she insists you read over and over again. Buster's birthday is her current favourite and you have to lift present flaps up to see what his friends bought for him. She knows what's in the presents by heart, so sometimes I blue-tak other pictures underneath when she's not looking, so she gets a surprise when she lifts the flap and instead of marbles, it's a tin of beans :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....
  • lwcus - mine was £75 delivered - it was brand new - there is a link to the ebay seller on that thread.

Last night as I put Benjamin down in his carry cot at 12pm (after sleeping, albeit broken since 8pm) he opened his eyes!! I left him down and switched the light off but he was fidgetty and making noises...hubby made snoring noises (as I hid under the covers giggling) and within a minute he was fast asleep :T clever lad!!

AsI type Benjamin is in his hammock and should probably be waking anytime soon...but every time he stirs DSS is gently bouncing his hammock and making snoring noises and Benjamin goes back to sleep!

Mel - glad you enjoyed your night out. I think 3 hours is long enough for your first time (I haven't managed any longer yet!). And I bet secretly you were glad that you didn't have to share your freedom with anyone other than your hubby ;):D

And you wonder why she wants to keep reading it!!! What a fab idea :T

    She sounds absolutely scrumptious :D

Edit - ladybird I need a childrens songs cd too...Benjamin doesn't seem to like any of the traditional songs but will settle to 'For he's a jolly good fellow' which now has 3 verses: 'a jolly good baby' then 'Benjamin'!!

well its still early but little man has been in good form this am. he's down for a nap now. he's started dancing every time he hears music now and its really funny - he sticks his wee bum out and wiggles.

am gonna go get organised and ring my MIL see if she'll mind Oz for an hour today - so i can go to the relative sanctuary of tesco and do some shopping!
Aww I do love a dancing bubs!! Hubby is most peeved as he says H men don't dance:rolleyes: I said well this one does :D the Bee family are big on dancing - me n sis did ballroom, latin and disco for most of our childhood and I did an adult tap class while I was pregnant with Chris so he's obviously influenced by Mummy ;)

He stayed at my mum's last night as sis is home for a few days and she dotes on him, he's done another wee on the potty :T so I think thats a good sign as he is in the excitement of Grandma's with Auntie too and still managed to say something - me thinks Grandma will be potty shopping soon coz she likes to have everything he needs (and more!) at her house.

Nad, you know your having a hectic time when Tesco's on a Saturday seems like a relaxing break from it all :p

Have you joined the ELC birthday club? you get sent song CDs with different themes every so often with vouchers off too ;)

When Chris was tiny the only song I could remember the words to was Killing Me Softly - he still likes it now when he's tired.
Current faves with him are go baby go baby goooo and various Girls Aloud hits, :rotfl:Mama Mia is still a firm fave too he's getting good with the words too

Yes she does but it's usually in phases of 1-2 weeks and generally she goes for her newest books. The worst one was a book from the church library which I read about a dozen times a day for a week. She also used to only choose from six books (which are a set) at the church library but thankfully she's branched into other ones now.

  • Sami - I end up singing 'All my lovin' by the Beatles because it starts with 'Close your eyes and I'll kiss you'...trouble is I don't know any words after the first verse so we just make it up :rotfl:

Off to join the ELC now - thank you!

Time to get learning your lines ;)

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
    Tomorrow I'll miss you;
    Remember I'll always be true.
    And then while I'm away,
    I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

    I'll pretend That I'm kissing
    the lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true.
    And then while I'm away,
    I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

All my loving I will send to you.
All my loving, darling I'll be true.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
    Tomorrow I'll miss you:
    Remember I'll always be true.
    And then while I'm away,
    I'll write home ev'ry day,

All my loving I will send to you.
All my loving darling I'll be True.
All my loving All my loving ooh
All my loving I will send to you

I used to sing under the bridge by the red hot chilli peppers to Aimee... and Stars shining bright above you... When she's not feeling very well she'll occasionally ask me to sing them to her now...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
