If only we could move to the US - Old Testament boy's names seem to be much more popular generally there.
I assume its because the US is generally more religious than here? (or it feels like it is) also if its old testament it would be a popular jewish name too

    Anywho I like it :D
I love the names we have for our bump but can't help thinking he needs a Christian name as OH, Chris and I are all Christian names. surely it would be silly to give him a 3rd middle name though- I'd never fit it on any forms!:o

One of my friends sisters has about 5 middle names - her dad went a bit overboard at the registrars office (without her mum's knowledge!). (He also seems to have got about a bit - she has had at least two siblings contact her that she didn't previously know about . )

Oh, and thanks Susan - HVs really are rubbish aren't they?! You automatically belive things that medical professionals tell you, but I'm starting to think that is a mistake!

I don't know about my HV - I haven't seen her since Alice was 11 weeks.

Ooh, Elijah was our name for a boy for a while... But it keeps changing... I still like it but hubby changed his mind...

today has been the hardest day i've had since i've become a mum. oz will not stop crying not even for a second if i 'm not with him. if i put him down he cries if i leave the room he screams. my head is hurting really badly, and i've no painkillers in the house and i cant get a minute to get myself dressed properly to go out and get some. I rang my OH to leave work early but he can't. the baby is just screaming and screaming and screaming and its driving me crazy. i'm counting the hours until OH gets home which at this point is more than 2. Theres nothing wrong with Oz apart from the cold but he's going through this awful clingy stage and I mean REALLY clingy and its driving me demented. my arm is actually really hurting from having to carry him so much.

well i've left him squealing for as long as i've typed this and i feel awful so i better go again. just wanted to vent.

Nad- we had a day like that last week. I phoned my DH to say that I think I'm going to have to leave him cry cos I just didn't have the energy to carry him round anymore. I felt so weak, like I was about to collapse. As my DH came through the door 2 hrs later, LO stopped crying!!

Moan alert- sorry, its just I'm feeling so sorry for myself today. LO is nearly 7 months old and is still waking 6 times + at night. Also, it takes about 2hrs to settle him at bedtime. We put him down after his bed time routine but he wakes up 30 mins later, this usually happens4-5 times. He's not hungry but the only way I can settle him is by putting him on the boobie. I am absolutely exhausted. I just cant carry on like this for much longer. How do I make him sleep for longer periods? Please help me!!!:o

Don't know if anyone saw Dr Chris on This Morning today but he mentioned taking a photo of your babies/children with flash on and if the picture comes back with white bits on their eyes to get it checked out. A bit like red eye on a picture but white. A baby had a photo taken and both its eyes had white blobs in the pupils - turns out they had 3 tumors in one eye and one tumor in the other. If the parents hadn't got it checked out the child would have gone blind before they released the tumors were even there! Dr Chris advised all parents to take a picture with flash on and check their eyes!

this is really good advice - but just a word of caution - this happened to us with Oz when he was about 5 months old - we were taking loads of pictures one sunday night and when we looked back on them we noticed one photo with the white eye, we knew about the possible indication of a tumour and we PANICKED!! The next day i rang my opthalmologist (sp?) who said to bring him in straight away, optician looked at photo and straight away said he thought it was just a trick of the light, but he checked Oz's eyes anyway and said they were fine, but we were right to bring him in.

so just to say if it ever happens dont panic but do get it checked as it could be a trick of the light or it could be more serious.

and just an update of my dreadful day - at 5pm he came round a bit, but his daddy's home now so he's taking over. once baby is in bed - OH going to get me a well deserved takeaway and chocolate.
