  • Jeez, I would forget my head if it wasn't screwed on...

My baby boy is 8 weeks old today and is dressed in his first 3-6 month vest and sleepsuit...he is too tall for all his 0-3 month ones already!

I think he is going to take after me, I was 5' 8" when I was 11...and I was only 8 stone...those were the days

    I am only 5' 9" now - I did all my growing early on....except for outwards :o

seth tends to get the foo fighters sang at him, we nearly named him david after dave grohl as he was conceived the night we saw them at wembley last year so it seems fitting!

yes, pampers smell of wee! i bought loads of huggies when tesco were doing 1/3 off nappies and then cos pampers worked out cheaper this time i got them instead, and ever since we started using them we now get up and out the back poops as well, unimpressed! and i bought 3 boxes of 156 in the asda baby event :doh:i sense lots of washing machine loads...

a question on reflux - how do you know if they have it? over the last week seth has started to get quite fractious halfway through his bottle, i stop feeding to wind him and he literally screams the house down until he burps, then i give him the rest, burp him again but he just doesnt seem comfortable IYSWIM, then when he lays down for bum change he pukes massively! tried sitting him up after a feed and changing a while later but the same thing happens? i'm not too concerned as he is a chubby devil and he has his check up monday so will ask the doctor then so not asking for medical advice ;) but does this sound anything like what you have experienced with reflux? the puking when laying down has only started over the last week or so, he does it at night too. we get lovely crusty hair to deal with in the morning

ETA: MFD, how strange, seth is 8 weeks tomorrow and has gone to bed tonight in 3-6 vest and sleepsuit for the first time! the arms are too long but he needs the extra body and leg length! we must have lanky chubby devils!!

Emlou, Snap - we suspect that Eloise was conceived the night we saw the foo fighters at wembley (7th June) too!

Beatles songs, when they get a bit bigger, Octopus's Garden and Maxwell's Silver Hammer are just perfect for toddlers!

Emlou and MFD, ello is 9 weeks and I put her in a 0-3 outfit for the first time today but only because I am sick of the sight of her newborn stuff not cos she's outgrown it, the 0-3 outfit today was far too big really.

    Good topic.

Olivia was conceived the night England beat Argentina in the 2002 World Cup! Courtesy of a Beckham penalty. A curry and many many drinks later and for me and DH the rest was history!!

Anyone else got any good ones?!

Charlotte was conceived after Sunderland beat Leeds 3-0 at Elland Road.

Spookily she was born on May 5th weighing 7lb 3oz which is the anniversary of Sunderland beating Leeds in the 73 cup final.
Here I go again on my own....

Becles - you, obsessed with smelly Sunderland? never! :p

My babes are both rather boring stories :(
Chris was after we'd been discussing our future and we got all excited about getting married and having babies and then made one whoops! :p
Bump was when ttc and I knew I had ov'd so jumped on OH just a normal day, normal jiggy in a normal bed for both :p

Em, we normally leave the carrier in the car now and just carry baby on her own - just take her in the carrier if we are visiting someone and want to be able to sit her in it while we are there. Sometimes I bring it in if she is sleeping too, but if she is far enough gone she doesn't notice if I pick her up anyway!

My friend gave birth to her twins during that game. She jumped up a few minutes into the game and felt "something odd". They went to the hospital (luckily she lives next door!) and had given birth to both of them before half-time. A few years later she had a little girl and again felt "something odd" while walking upstairs. She shouted for her husband who caught the little girl arriving a minute later.

My OH wouldn't be impressed by that one; he proposed to me after Leeds won 5-0 but I don't recall who they were playing! I wouldnt have a clue exactly when I conceived any of my children apart from DS who was conceived on Halloween and born during a thunderstorm. We had visions of him being evil but he's the loveliest, most easy-going lad you could meet. Not exactly sure which day DD was conceived but we think it was the week we booked our wedding. The doctor told me it takes an average of four months to get pregnant so we decided to try straight away to gt ahead of the game. I got pregnant immediately so was three months pregnant on my wedding day - oops!

With Tom who knows? I was starting to get so desperate by then that the month we conceived we were going for the quantity over quality method. It could have been any one of a number of occasions. *blushes*

Wow, I can't believe Kai is 8wks today. in some ways it has flown past...but it also feels like he has always been here forever; if that makes any sense at all:D

Thanks SB, it was a lovely few hours out. I doubt it will be the first of many though, as that is the first time we have managed to get a babysitter since December.....I am just praying we can work out something for these blasted concerts!!!!

I have decided to get a car again, although it wont be until about October time. After considering the logistics of getting 3 kids to school/childcare then me to work.....then back to the various childcare places after I finish work at 6pm....It is going to be a nightmare without a car! I just need to decide whether to get a people carrier (higher tax, ins etc) or a normal car (but may need to upgrade at some point) Hmmm??
