Benjamin slept for 8 solid hours last night...induced by a bottle of formula with his dad at about 8pm, a top up from me about 9.30pm then a 10pm til 6am sleep :T He then fed, I changed him, fed him again and he was back down at 6.30am til 9.30am
Would love to say that I benefitted from the extra sleep but I had mad dreams all night (losing the baby in the bed type dreams!) and didn't manage to go back to sleep myself this morning so I feel about the same as normal!
I did enjoy the extra time with dad though:D

Shame you didn't feel any better, but you will if it becomes a regular thing.
Was it choc asking about life-jacket-type things with something between the legs to stop 'Houdini kids'? Well, whoever, what about this one from Mothercare? http://www.mothercare.com/Swimsafe-Float-suit-1-2yrs-Pink/dp/B001O45RTK/sr=1-19/qid=1241285318/ref=sr_1_19/279-1857300-3531503?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=core I noticed it in their catalogue last night.
We've been shopping today and Imogen has been really good. We've ascertained that the car seat i wanted won't fit in our cars because the seat belts are too short, so it's the more expensive Maxi Cosi for us.
Then we went to a local discount outlet and treat Imogen to a new t-shirt and fab summer dress in the sale. Just as we were leaving we saw some lovely bedding (been looking for some) so have purchased two full king-size sets (including extra pillowcases and fitted sheets) so if it dries in time we can have lovely new, egyptian cotton line-dried bedding tonight :T
DH took Imogen to the loos while we were out. There wasn't one in the baby room so he took her into the gents. She was happy enough to go on the toilet until she saw a man enter and stand at the urinals. To which she promptly declared that she wanted to wee standing up :rotfl:When DH told her it was never going to work like that she seemed a bit disappointed!
Bob the Builder was round at our house last week. No, really. One of our builders is called Rob. He'd called round to fix something minor when DH was away and I was just putting Imogen to bed, so I had to tell her he was coming (she thinks Bob built her new bedroom). When I told her she asked whether he'd have his hat on, but was happy enough when i said no and snuggled down to sleep. Not sure what's going on in her head sometimes!
Oh, and on keeping baby awake during feeds - we used to rub Imogen's earlobes or give her a gentle squeeze, bit like a cuddle, which was enough to get her sucking again. Forgot to say, on highchairs, you just need to decide what's important to you. We wanted one with removable covers and that would do two kids - i.e. I wasn't allowed a pink one! We have a Chico Polly which is great, but what get's caught in the 'bag' underneath can be a bit grim! It's useful for having muslins to hand in the early days though. We put Imogen in it from around 5 months and just wedged her in with towels.
My mum bought one just cos it folded flat as they wouldn't be using it often. You can really spend as little or as much as you like on them and at the end of the day, you kid just sits in them for around 12-18 months. Imogen now only sits on a normal chair and has recently been refusing the cushion we used to stuff under her.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

I know how you feel!! My LO 6 months old as still waking every hour and half. I am like a walking zombie!! x0 -
MFD - I hope Benjamin keeps up his new trick for you:) I honestly used to wake up constantly through the night and lay staring at the little swinging pendulum thingy on the monitor to make sure Kai was still breathing.... I still do now and then but usually manage to sleep till 4-5am before waking now, and don't get back to sleep properly listening out for him waking, which is usually 6-7am although yesterday he got up at 5am!!!
r.mac - That highchair is a great price, last time we bought one from Mothercare, it cost us £80!!!! Never again......Lu T is right, they don't actually get used for very long and I found both my boys wanted to be out of it as soon as they had eaten, so it was really a maximum of an hour a day (3x20min feeds) they were sat in it.
I might get one myself, as we need to save money as much as possible, dh is 'trying' to buy a tv for £1600!!!!!!!!!

We went for a well padded high chair because I knew I would have Alice sitting in it a lot when I was doing things in the kitchen. We got this one (but different colours because they change them all the time) for the same price as the model below because it was on sale at the time. The only differences as far as I can tell are the foot rest and the removable tray. The removable tray is totally worth it in the earlier days when the mess gets all over the tray as you can lift it out so that the hands you clean don't get instantly recontaminated from the tray. The footrest was a waste of time though as Alice's legs never reached it before we stopped using it (she was 18 months but tall for her age) and all it did was collect dropped bits of food for us to clean up. The other negative with it was gigantic straps which we still had adjusted as tight as they would go when we stopped using it. It was very easy to clean though.
I think some people on here have found the IKEA antelop very good.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Hello everyone :hello: :hello:
I see the David Tennant appreciation is still making an apperance on the thread :j:j:j
Hope everyone has had a good weekend - the weather has been fab up in Stoke so we took Ethan swimming for the first time today - he loved it - he thought it was a big bath and because we went in the normal pool and not aqua tots he got LOADS of attention (which he loved)
I have seen on the thread that some of you are taking your LO's to baby sign/sensory classes - is there somewhere I can find out if there is anything like this close to me? My HV is rubbish - she signed me off at 6 weeks despite me pleading with her not too (I'm not a very confident mum and tend to worry about everything, mainly killing Ethan from feeding him too much, not feeding him enough, too many cuddles, not enough cuddles, bathing them too much, not bathing him enough etc)
Thanks

Stokegal, the health visitor shouldn't actually sign you off. She should run clinics weekly that you can drop into for weighing and to discuss any concerns...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
