Fritha - if you're about do you know if warrington is decent for BFing Bra shopping, maybe debenhams?
Thought I'd venture to town while the fancy food market is on and I really want to try on in a shop instead of having to keep sending stuff back from online.

Sounds to me EXACTLY what Kai has been doing for the last two days...I guessed it was constipation/upset belly and gave him boiled water earlier today, well about half an hour ago he exploded and now seems a lot better I will be willing to put money on him gulping his bottle at 8pm (like normal) - Oh he also had a foamy mouth.....

To be honest he did a similar thing at about 6wks too, so I had an inkling of what the problem might be.

could this be the problem with Seth too????

    Mel x

Edit - Just wanted to add, after reading the advice you were being given about teats....I'm not sure what bottles/teats you use, but by far the best I have found are the variable flow ones, they have a cross which means baby decides how fast they want the milk to come out, rather than either having to suck so hard they fall asleep or the milk coming out so fast they are choking!!!!
ooh he had one massive explosive poop today and yesterday instead of the several skiddies he normally does, and been dribbling and blowing bubbles, normally he doesnt do either, you may be onto something there! how much boiled water did you give kai? we have tried seth with variflow teats but he just didnt seem to "get" what to do with them for some reason, he seemed to find them much harder work than normal IYSWIM.

he has been a little better since i posted (isnt that always the way? like making an appointment to see the doctor and by the time it comes round whatever it was has sorted itself!) i kind of squashed him up against me and cuddled him this afternoon and refused to let him wake up so he would sleep for longer and when he woke up he took almost a full feed :T and he's polished off a lot more in each feed since then too so i'm hopeful of actually getting some kip in tonight! but now i've said so its bound to be the kiss of death :D

Sami_bee, thanks for the heads up on the Asda event pushchair. We've been and got one tonight and it's just what we wanted. You can tell the fabric is a bit cheap but it's exactly what I wanted for going away, reclining seat, sunshade-y thing, raincover, very light not to mention the cup-holders (I'm sure pushchairs didn't have so many cupholders ten years ago!) - just what we need for a day or three at Disneyworld! Plus Tom was very happy to sit in it - we've been chasing OH around the house with him in it. Hope the neighbours weren't looking in the window! Anyway, thanks very much!
  • I gave Benjamin some cooled boiled water this afternoon because he seemed to have a tummy ache and hadn't poo'd since the night before last...we were rewarded with 2 MASSIVE poos...one which went all down his legs and another that went right up his back :D

    Bless

Feet in swimming pools: I have plastic beach shoes (can't do flip flops!) which I ONLY wear at the gym: I walk from the changing area to the showers in them, shower, then take them off at edge of pool.

Then I put them on again, walk into shower, take them off while I'm in the shower, put them on again and dry off before walking back to changing area.

For the boys, they always each had half an old towel to stand on while they dried themselves. Seemed to work quite well, we weren't over-run with veruccas. Actually I might get one of them for myself, I too hate the wet floor thing, and I get all twitchy if there's hair anywhere other than on my head.

My personal bug-bear is the people at the gym who ignore the signs saying 'please dry off before going to the changing area' and walk through absolutely dripping, leave the floor soaking wet, and then dump their towels on the floor or on the bench when the leave. Do they have a maid at home?

    morning all!

emlou did you get any more sleep? hope seth is better after his big poo.:T

3onitsway are you thinking of searching out a baby sign class that's the right type so all the family use the same signs as DS? I thought that was what you were saying but i've got foggy baby brain! Sounds logical to me, else it'd be like speaking russian to one of your children, asnd then translating it into french for another child, pretty confusing! :)

CG I'm new here, and a bit twp, but what's the whole Bob/Wendy thingie about? :o:D

You also may be jealous to know that my 2 pals from liverpool came to visit cardiff and stayed in a certain posh hotel and had breakfast next to Mr Tennant... He's often filming here (tho that ends now, sadly as he's not Dr who now...)
They were quite distracted from their smoked salmon...

Sami, not long now eh? Have you got everything you need? Are you going to try the vitamin boosters? Is your mum on hand or will she be with Christopher? x

    Hello to everyone else ;)

have a great day all, we're going to do some BIDIY (badly interrupted DIY- the only type there is with a baby!) and get a food shop in, and hopefully go for a walk too, could be a bit ambitious!!! Oh and an Ikea trip too...

    love weezl x

O forgot to say that I got my money back in the end for that nursing bra from Mothercare which broke because of faulty stiching. When I wrote they sent me a very patronising letter explaining to me the possible reasons they would give a refund and said that if I still thought I was entitled to one to send the bra in to them so that their "labs" could investigate and decide whether I was right. I did so in December and then three motnhs later having not heard I wrote again saying that taking three month contravened the "without undue inconvenience" bit of whatever act it was I was quoting. I got an instant reply apologising for the delay and saying that they had "just" dealt with it and the labs had found it exactly as I had described and enclosing a £10 mothercare voucher (the bra was from an £18 two pack).
