thanks js i was hoping there'd be one without screws - one of the pressure ones, but i dont think they go that wide. its not actually for in the house - its to block off our decking so Oz can play on it, and I wanted a cheap and easy option rather than fitting a garden gate, as i dont want it to be a permanent thing.

We use a nursery fireplace screen outside to block off some steps as a temp measure? We put some eyes in the wooden sleepers and attach the screen to them. You can sometimes find them in charity shops.

Could you not just get a big piece of board that can be slid in and out of position and then ditched (or recycled) once it's finished with? Not the prettiest looking thing but it would do the job...

yeah i was thinking of something makeshift but Oz is incredibly inquisitive and likes to wreck things so i'd be worried he'd knock it down on himself - i'm sure i'll come up with something. also looking for a huge rug or mat or something to put on the decking so he's not crawling directly on the wood.

I apologise in advance if anyone is enjoying lunch right now..........

Just a question - does the liquid yellow poo last for the whole time a baby is b/fed?
She does a huge one every morning (she was a bit late today!), it comes with a very loud pump, and comes straight out the back/front/legs of her nappy depending on what position she's in.
I've had pampers and huggies - neither can contain it! Luckily today, i caught her as soon as she'd done it - so it was only a change of vest needed rather than a whole new outfit. :D

    Hi all,

    A quick question about sleep...:o

Some of the things I've read suggest that you can start to drop a night feed at around the 5 week mark, with the aim of baby sleeping for 7-8 hrs by 6 weeks (baby whisperer) whilst others seem to be saying that 12 weeks is more normal. Seems quite a wide variation, and I wondered what you lot thought?

Emlou, MFD, and Redmel, you all had your babies at roughly the same time as me, how's your sleep going?;):D

Erm, yummy/slummy mummy? I think I've missed something! Feeling a bit flabby at the mo, so can I be 'tummy mummy' please!?

    Love Weezl

Hi Weezl - How are you all settling with your first baby....

Kai has his last bottle at about 8pm then bed about 9pm...he sleeps right through until 6.30-7am.

I didn't do a thing, he just decided to drop one bottle at 2 1/2wks and then adopted this pattern at about 3 1/2wks....

I replied to this first so I will go catch up on the rest of the posts now:)

    Mel x

I need a gate that would fit gap of 110cm - anyone any ideas?
MIL got this one cheap on ebay http://www.lindam.com/store/woodmet.html
I think you have to buy extra extenders but a few of the lindam gates go bigger than 110cm :) I'm having a nightmare trying to get gates for our house coz we've got tiny doorways:rolleyes:

    ooh thanks sami

3onitsway - Oz had liquid green poo for 12 wks after/during every feed. make sure the nappy is on snug and the frilly bits are all pulled out, thats all i can recommend - Oz's always came out the back. nice.
