Sorry if this is TMI but I am still bleeding...got my 6 week check tomorrow so will talk to the doctor but it is really starting to play on my mind. I keep thinking that they are going to send me to hospital...which I know is irrational but just typing it has me crying.
How heavy is it? I'm sure I bled until about 6 weeks with both of mine, but it was very very light towards the end. Hope the doc will be able to reassure you. :)

SB - Glad you had a nice evening out:)

MFD - Let us know how the doctors goes tomorrow, and definitely mention the bleeding. I'm sure they won't just pack you off to the hospital.....Also mention that you are tearful lately!!! Has the HV been back to do your 6wk assessment yet??
I am also a bit run down so you are not alone there. I am aching all over, have a sore throat and have come out in spots on my face, which I keep picking:mad:

I am meant to be going out on Tuesday evening with work, it is our pharmacists leaving do. But I doubt I will be going as I don't think dh would be too pleased if I did. I'm not sure whether he would cope very well anyway being left on his own with the three kids!

Well, speaking of nakedness... and following on from Becles' and Choc's comments... at what age do you stop letting your children see you naked? I guess this is particularly relevant to chidlren of the opposite sex, as I wouldn't mind at all if I had a daughter to see me naked at any point (well, you know what I mean! :o).

My DS1 is 5 1/2 and he does occasionally get a glimpse of me rushing for the shower in the morning, and if I take him swimming by myself we obviously share a changing room... He doesn't bat an eyelid, which is kinda my objective. I realise there will be a time when he will be obsessed with female bodies , so I want him to know what normal women look like IYSWIM and not to make a big deal out of it.

Does that make me sound like an old hippie? :rotfl:I don't know... Just wondering what the cut-off point is for this sort of thing? I realise this depends on the indiviual family etc, but was just wondering what your thoughts are?

I didn't realise you bled longer if bf as opposed to ff. Interesting as I stopped bleeding by 5wks and was really only brown and light from 3wks.. must be because I ff??

On the subject of letting kids see you naked. I was brought up in a pretty prudish house. Nobody saw anybody naked/semi-naked, bodies weren't talked about etc.. I try to be fairly open with talking about bodies and their functions but I don't let my boys (6 & 8yrs) see me naked, I don't think I ever really have done!! DS1 Has also started getting rather body shy himself, he has started turning away when getting undressed for a bath!!!!

Thank you so much caz - I was thinking I was completely abnormal and there was something hideously wrong with me :o

Mel - I have been seeing my HV weekly at clinic and my 6 week check is with the doctor...I think...

Dormouse - I think it is better for kids to be comfortable around adult bodies...personally I wouldn't parade around naked but if my 9 year old DSS sees me in my bra then it is no biggie.

I think the bleeding varies from person to person more than the way you feed... I only bled for 2 weeks after having Aimee and bf her...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Thanks for all the plane/holiday tips. I have taken note! We have just booked Alicante in June and my mission this week is to get two decent baby passport photos...an impossibility, I'm sure!

I used to work for jessops, we had a digital passport camera, and special background cushion specifically to take baby passport photographs. We would lay the baby on the cushion and get mum or dad to get their attention sort of above us and usually manage to get a decent acceptable picture. If you have got a rattle that makes a enough noise to catch their attention so they will look at the camera thats great. We had the same passport pic checking equipment as the post office so we could check we had got it right. Be prepared to look a bit silly in the shop though waving a rattle around above the head of the member of staff taking the picture! :D

All jessops shops should have the same equipment, but its probably best if you go in when the shop is quiet if possible.

Just thought it might be easier than trying to hold the baby in a booth!
