We went on holiday when the boys were 9 and 7 and all shared a family room and they didn't seem too bothered about people being naked. Last year they were 11 and 9 in a family room on holiday and we noticed more comments about body parts and giggling.

The normally shout if they are coming into the bedroom when I'm getting dressed in case I'm naked or just in underwear but they are not bothered. The both still wander about in the nude and don't care who sees them. They even do that when they stay with my parents.

James has great skin - never burns and just goes deep brown in the slightest bit of sunshine. After a holiday, he proudly shows his "little white botty" to anyone who wants to see it :o
Here I go again on my own....

I once mentioned this at school when DD was about 4 and a colleague was mortified that we would let our children see us nude - I almost expected a visit from the child protection services the way she went on. Then, (and I think I've mentioned this before) DD commented on the anatomically correct baby in the role play area and informed my colleague (the same one) that her Daddy's "tail" (as it often gets called where we live) must hang off the end of the bed when he sleeps! (It doesn't!!!)

Hmm...did I just share too much?
:rotfl:I personally really don't see the problem in your own children seeing you naked:confused: its not like you let them watch your 'special time' with OH

Well, speaking of nakedness... and following on from Becles' and Choc's comments... at what age do you stop letting your children see you naked? I guess this is particularly relevant to chidlren of the opposite sex, as I wouldn't mind at all if I had a daughter to see me naked at any point (well, you know what I mean! :o).

My DS1 is 5 1/2 and he does occasionally get a glimpse of me rushing for the shower in the morning, and if I take him swimming by myself we obviously share a changing room... He doesn't bat an eyelid, which is kinda my objective. I realise there will be a time when he will be obsessed with female bodies , so I want him to know what normal women look like IYSWIM and not to make a big deal out of it.

Does that make me sound like an old hippie? :rotfl:I don't know... Just wondering what the cut-off point is for this sort of thing? I realise this depends on the indiviual family etc, but was just wondering what your thoughts are?
I second that they'll let you know when they are bothered by it :p I randomly am less bothered by my dad being naked than my mum, although I think that's because mum spends all her time telling us how fat and disgusting she is so maybe on some level I find her body disgusting because that's what she always told me?
oh and although at some point in my teens I didn't exactly like seeing my parents naked they didn't ever stop wandering around nude - how dare they be naked in their own home :p
I clearly remeber when I didn't want them seeing me naked tho, I was in the shower and mum said she was desperate for a wee so I let her in but stayed with my back to her coz I was just getting boobs and felt uncomfy but it was ok until just as she walked out she said "oh you're getting boobs you'll need a bra soon" cue me wanting the ground to open up!! I was completely mortified!!

She's seen me at my worst now tho - she was at Chris's birth and will hopefully be at this birth too, she was a fantastic birth partner and the thought of not having her there for this one was so scary I'm having a homebirth to make sure she can be with me!
Thanks for all the plane/holiday tips. I have taken note! We have just booked Alicante in June and my mission this week is to get two decent baby passport photos...an impossibility, I'm sure!
I'd definitely go to a shop for them, Jamie should be easy coz he can just lay down and I'm sure poppy will be fine too, its much easier than trying to get it done in the few goes you get in a booth. I got Chris's done at max speilmann (sp?) they were fab with him (he loves going in there coz all the girls coo over him!)

Izzy came in the loo when I was in there the other day and said "Ohhhhh mummy look at your bottom, that's YUCK!!" :rotfl:

My DH tends to cover up in front of the girls, but once when Olivia was small, she obviously caught sight of something and came running to tell me in fits of laughter that she'd seen "daddy's wobbly bottom" :D

I think chris will be like that - he's got his Daddy's fabulous olive skin and tans standing too close to a lamp! (pasty little me, jealous? never!)
only today he was running around the in-laws 'nudey' he loves it and proudly shakes his winky and bum about for you :rotfl:OH shouted me to come and see what he was up to and I was greeted by him proudly shouting "Mummy I nudey!!"

As for nakeness I don't think either OH or I will be prudish I didn't come from a prudish home but my sis is very prude my niece and nephew never even get in for a pee if my sis or BIL are in shower, so I find it difficult when they come to stay here as I am really bad for wandering about naked......
The other bad things is we have a dog so know alot if not all the neighbours so they always look in the windows to wave to you,the amount of times I've ducked down when I've seen folk passin the window. They must think rude b***h duckin and not wavin!!!!

    Hi all,

    A quick question about sleep...:o

Some of the things I've read suggest that you can start to drop a night feed at around the 5 week mark, with the aim of baby sleeping for 7-8 hrs by 6 weeks (baby whisperer) whilst others seem to be saying that 12 weeks is more normal. Seems quite a wide variation, and I wondered what you lot thought?

Emlou, MFD, and Redmel, you all had your babies at roughly the same time as me, how's your sleep going?;):D

Erm, yummy/slummy mummy? I think I've missed something! Feeling a bit flabby at the mo, so can I be 'tummy mummy' please!?

Do you think he could go that long without a feed? I'm not a big fan of books and rules... All babies are different, in the early days a lot need the milk to get them through the night... Some don't...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Every baby is different, don't try to stick to 'rules' and books etc.... follow your baby's lead :o Your LO will let you know if a feed is needed!

DD is 11 weeks now, and her longest sleep is about 5 hours, from 9pm to 2am. Then she goes back off til approx 6.30.

I'm still b/f, and soooo many people have told me to 'get her on the bottle' to make her sleep through, so i'm assuming that makes a difference?!?

It'll be interesting to hear how much sleep the other new mums are getting - even if it does make me jealous.

Morning all, had a bit of a shock over the weekend. Had this little incling but confirmed at weekend that we are expecting again. It wasnt planned and tbh not sure how far gone either as I never seemed to get back into that much of a routine period wise after Henry....Think OH was as shocked as me !!

So I guess its off to the doctors to have it offically confirmed.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.
