this is going to sound weird, but if it was me i would pretend that the descision had been made for me... say to carry on BFing,
and thats how it has to be...
my gut reaction to that would tell me wether i was truly happy with it,
god this is hard to explain, its like when you think you dont mind either way about something but then you toss a coin and it lands on the 'wrong' side,
but you didnt know there was a wrong side til it happened

    does that make sense?
    no?

    oh.... fishsticks!

I used to do that when trying to decide what to eat in a restaurant!

I think I'll stick with the expressing, and keep trying him at the breast. Hopefully it'll click eventually. I've got some formula for emergencies, hopefully I can keep expressing though.

Just try and take it one day at a time, Feelie. You don't need to make any long-term plans - just one day at a time. Or one feed at a time even! :)

Like at easter someone gave us 2 easter eggs and hubby said which do you want? I said I wasn't bothered but then was gutted when he picked one coz I suddenly decided I wanted that one! :o

    This is really great advice!!!

Feeling good I too was on the verge of chucking it all in and even told friends that that was it I was switching to ff but then the next feed wasn't quite so bad and so bfing just carried on as kind of the default option. I guess it helped that once I stopped expressing I was pig sick of the steriliser too so wasn't overly keen to then be sterilising bottles on a four hourly basis.

I got the very best help from my hospital breastfeeding councillor (who developed a plan with me to help combat my particular problems) but also good additional help from the sure start breastfeeding groups (also a good mixing opportunity as I didn't get out to groups much because of the bf problems).

I hear there is also help available through the nct and la lache (sp?) but for some reason I didn't know about the availability of help from them at the time although I knew they existed and what they did ...think I turned a bit thick back then lol.

    oh.... fishsticks!

i know exactly what you mean!

in other words feeli - tell yourself you're going to stop BF - how does that make you feel? happy or sad? content? relieved? annoyed at yourself? then you'll know what you want.

sometimes it doesnt work though, you just feel all sorts of things at once.

ooh got an interview tomorrow - for a full time job. its a really good job and I'm very interested in it, but full time yuck! ah well, if i got it i guess i could give it a try and if i dont like being away from baby that long then i'll jack it in!
