mel - oz was measured a few times but he hated it - though i still measure him myself cos i love to note things like that down. i get oh to hold a book or something to his head when he's lying down then i stretch his legs straight mark where he ends and then measure the distance.

    I'm 28 still think i'm about 19 though.

Cant believe Caz has 5 kids at 25! thats amazing. actually its amazing at any age, 1 can be tough enough!

slightly long on the legs(but not immensely)...

not that it matters just yet for Kai, but as a tip for anyone else (or for future) when you go up a sleepsuit size and baby is mobile i find popping a pair of socks on OVER the sleepsuit means they dont lag behind / get fallen over etc :o
its one of those really simple ideas that works a treat....that you just dont think of (well i didnt... someone suggested it and i couldnt believe i hadnt thought of it! lol)

re the length thing, my HV has a changing mat thing that the baby lays on, feet resting on a stuck down bar and it has a moveable bar at the top which they move to the head to give the measurement

do you know what... I know what im on about but im really struggling to describe what i mean today! i have the dumb! :rotfl:

Quick question before I reply to everyone...

How do you measure the length of baby, down the front of body or back?? Kai has never been measured, the midwife who came and did his check a few days after the birth just threw the tape measure at me and said I could do it myself if I wanted to:rolleyes:

    Mel x
My HV measured Chris and a few others at our 'headstart group' she lay the bubba down with top of head touching the wall and then u use a folder/clipboard/placemat to put against their feet and measure the gap - best done with a handy helper ;)

Ps. I know we've been here before due to my 'young mum' in my sig :p
I'm 23yo and as far as I know the only girl from my school year with 2 kids (well will be 2 in june) I know there is one boy who's got 2 as well and quite a few peeps have got 1 child but I was the first non-religious one to get married ;)
(all info is taken from facebook there tho so could be some others hiding out in technophobe land)

thanks savvy sue, i am 1 of 5 to be the first for the 'new' way. the go internally so no cuts or being filled with gas and they block the tubes. will know more tom but am worried about GA. i am feeding so unsure how long i cant give her feed etc. i know myself i dont want anymore kids and 5 at 25 is more than enough.
All I know is that I had a GA first thing, and I was feeding that night.

Mind you I would want to know what the success rate is for this 'new' method - I presume someone's been doing it somewhere else rather than you are the first 5 ever in the world? And, if they're not blowing you up with gas, do they have to give you a GA? Can you not have an epidural? I was told I couldn't have an epi because of the gas.

OH is too much of a wimp to get done and due to his age -24 they wont do him???
:rotfl: Men and their bits! Mine was too much of a wimp too ...

BTW, I am old enough to be a grandma but I'm not. I was a late starter, and the boys seem uninterested in girls. Sigh.

On the subject of age, I'm almost 25 with my first baby. But i'm not the first of my friends to have kids-one friend i see a lot has two, shes the same age as me and has an almost 7 year old and a one year old :) Another has two (shes same age too) 3 and 4. Still three without kids, but there's no rush for them :)

What a good idea, I dont buy sleepsuits often buy I have a couple that are way too long on the legs but fit everywhere else and I usually take her legs out when she gets up in the morning, tie them around her waist to stop her tripping up and put socks on to keep her feet warm
