D'you know, I don't even remember asking if it would be OK to feed baby when I got home ... just assumed it would, I think!Krystaltips wrote: »Caz, information on breastfeeding and aneasthetics here: http://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/pdfs/Day_Surgery_and_Breastfeeding_March_2009.pdf
Given that the hospital weren't expecting to have me overnight, they were great. Admittedly I was refusing to stay (even though I was up-chucking with gay abandon) because of feeding him overnight, but they had no problem with DH going to get him and the travel cot. And they put me in a single room, the ONLY time I've ever had one!
Of course, once I'd said I'd stay, I stopped up-chucking. :rotfl:
And they didn't want me to lift him, in case I burst my tiny stitches, which was fine except that every time I rang the bell to get them to lift him back into his cot he woke up and started howling as they went out! :rotfl: In the end I put him back in myself.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Good point there Caz - I know how damn fertile you are you don't want another accident do you (not that you don't want and love ur kids but you know what I mean!!) xxAll I know is that I had a GA first thing, and I was feeding that night.
Mind you I would want to know what the success rate is for this 'new' method - I presume someone's been doing it somewhere else rather than you are the first 5 ever in the world? And, if they're not blowing you up with gas, do they have to give you a GA? Can you not have an epidural? I was told I couldn't have an epi because of the gas.
:rotfl: Men and their bits! Mine was too much of a wimp too ...
BTW, I am old enough to be a grandma but I'm not. I was a late starter, and the boys seem uninterested in girls. Sigh.0 -
When I had my tonsils out, breastfeeding was such a normal 'unthinking' thing for me, I almost forgot to mention it... When I did the nurse on the ward told me I should of bought the baby in with me... Until I mentioned she was 2....D'you know, I don't even remember asking if it would be OK to feed baby when I got home ... just assumed it would, I think!
