I bought a loola 2nd hand from ebay and the creatis came with it, it doesn't get used very often but it is very handy to be able to clip straight on to the wheels.MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740

Osmosis maybe?
I'm glad the jaundice is getting better for feelinggood's baby, and I'd recommend trying breast shells as well. Just make sure you have it the right way up! And they don't work for everyone, but I used to leak on the side I wasn't feeding, so it was a waste of good milk not to collect it. Mind you it was a waste of good milk after a while anyway, because as I said he never took it except from the breast. In the very early days I was taking as much as I could to the hospital for my best friend, she was back in with complications following her C-section and her milk was drying up because of all the antibiotics she had to take. Then I took it up for the milk bank, but then they shut that. So it just built up in the freezer, getting some out occasionally to see if he'd take it, but he never ever did!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
this bit made me angry,Younger women in particular are the least likely to breastfeed, with over 40 per cent of mothers under 24 never even trying. The biggest gap, however, is a socioeconomic one. Women who live in low-income households or who are poorly educated are many times less likely to breastfeed, even though it can make an enormous difference to a child’s health.
In children from socially disadvantaged families, exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months of life can go a long way towards cancelling
out the health inequalities between being born into poverty and being born into affluence. In essence, breastfeeding takes the infant out of poverty for those first crucial months and gives it a decent start
in life.
we are a low income family and struggle to feed ourselves by the end of the month most months, however neither of us are poorly educated, we are not putting our baby into poverty by giving him formula and he isnt going to suffer health inequalities because we havent got any spare money!! seth will NEVER be without food, i would rather not eat myself for a week than let him go without!Mummy to

Firstly BG hat on... Can we all try to remember to be nice to each other
I don't think anyone is trying to scaremonger from what I have seen so maybe if everyone could take a step back from the keyboard and make a cuppa tea and have a biscuit before stepping back?
Anyway - I know I'm not really a parent yet (less than 4 weeks to go with any luck!) but I'm firmly in the "breast is best" camp. And I will do all I can to BF the little toad when she gets here... So long as I have done everything I can to BF her then I won't feel guilty for not BFing if it turns out that she needs to go on formula, but only once I know that I have done all I can...
MY reasons for this is that breast milk contains all the nutrients the baby needs - no substitute in powder form will ever provide her with that or with the boosts to her immune system etc.
Formula in my view has it's place - but that is only once BF has failed for whatever reason.
I appreciate that is only my view and I would never dream of having a go at anyone for FF their child from the beginning - because ultimately it's their child and not mine! But I'd certainly support all the campaigns that encourage women to breast feed - even if just for the first few weeks to help the baby get the first milk from mum with all the "goodies" they need to start with
As for the article - interesting in my view - I guess because I read it with an open mind and not defensively then I didn't think it was particularly scaremongering? But maybe that's because I already knew a lot of those figures and stats from other articles I've read?
Ultimately if you think about it then judging on the information out there then any baby with a mother who has a glass of wine once in a while, smokes, allows the baby to sleep in their bed, feeds formula and wear pink dresses with polkadots should statistically never see their 1st birthday - all you can do is read the information out there and make up your own minds
I know that I certainly won't feel guilty about any of my choices because I know I have done my research on all angles to the best of my ability before making my mind upAnd as parents or parents to be - isn't that all we can do?

Psssst. May I pop my head in the door for a sec? There seems to be serious discussion going on.
I just wanted to say wish me luck, I'm off to get my gallbladder removed tomorrow - in a private hospital- I've read about people being sent to private hospitals to cut NHS waiting lists, but never thought it would happen to me! Barely three months from diagnosis to op. Excellent.
After my swift recovery  I'll be plonking myself firmly on the TCC list :T. Whoohoo

Oh bless. I went right away but she got a bit caught short and did a little wee stood by her door. I've whipped her onto the loo and gone to dab at the carpet with her shouting, "Don't stand in it Mummy. It's wet! Don't get your feet wet!"MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
