Had a lovely afternoon at the farm with Natasha. We fed every single animal, played on the toy tractors, played on the swings, had a tractor and trailor ride and bought ourselves gifts in the gift shop.
The weather is like summer here, its really lovely. Hubby has just come in so I think they are both off into the garden and im having a pizza! I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
Agutka - Good luck with the op, I had mine removed 5yrs ago...everyone always comments that I was far too young to have gallstones....as if I was making it up or something
SB - Kai dropped his first feed at 2 1/2wks old, he would feed at 8 but then instead of waking up at at 12 he would just sleep through until 4am....he did this for a week then decided not to bother waking at 4am and just slept through until 6am he has done this ever since:) I honestly didn't do a thing myself it was all his idea:D As I have said before, it must be my blessing from above to acknowledge what a terrible time I had with ds2;)

Good luck Agutka xx
Changing subject to teething . LO has started being grumpy as has swollen gums. He's 6months. What have you mums found that work to ease the pain. Dont want to go down the calpol route. I'm half tempted to try the amber teething neckless J's other half mentioned a few weeks agos but to wear it around his ankle. I have tried Aston and Parson? powder but didn't seem to work.
TIA

Hi lwcus, i'm just off to shower as Elliot's gone to sleep for a bit...but just wanted to quickly reply! To be honest we use teething gel- calgel mainly as it seems to help (bonjella doesnt though for some reason). I do use the powders at times, helps calm him down a bit but that's about it with him. I may try a different brand though, see if that makes a difference?
He's still got no teeth, at 7 months old. Just a loada dribble, rash on chin, chewing everything, lumpy gums etc!!

Why is it okay to use terms like breast is best brigade? Breast feeding nazi's?
Honestly CG you come across as SO antagonistic.
I couldn't give a stuff how ANYONE else in the WORLD feeds their baby. It is none of my business. But it !!!!es me off when BFers get tarred as busybodies when actually some of us are just devastated by the amount of misinformation out there. In the last five pages there has been talk of empty breasts (they don't get empty) and poor quality milk (a total myth) - but mentioning this makes me comparable to a nazi or part of a brigade? Why is it okay to upset people like this? I don't see anyone challenging you, so the rest of the people on this thread must think those things are okay to say too, even the board guide?
I breastfed for a bloody long time and you know what, I will NOT do it again. It was bloody hard work and nearly destroyed my relationship. Where was my support with that on here? When my OH left me alone and scared and wanting to die, who did I have?
That is why I left this thread. Support? Smuggery more like.0 -
And good luck to Agutka, will be thinking of you. I'll leave you all to it now.0

pmsl! :rotfl:i bet my neighbouurs are the same, we are in a village and im convinced everyone is talking about the screaming baby i have! luckily the nursery mums feel sorry for me and offer to take abi to and from nursery for me:D
Same here. I live in a small village where I also teach so I am fairly well known. Everytime we took Tom out in his pram when he was younger he screamed and screamed and everyone I met would always say "Is he still crying?". I bet they all wonder how I manage a class when I can't manage my own child!!0 -

did you read my last post? any of them actually?
i said what ever you choose is RIGHT, but wether you want to admit it or not there are some incredibly over zealous breastfeeding advocates about,
i didnt call Krystal or anyone else here a BFnazi or a busybody, i just said that they exist and we all know they do.. are you offended by my choice of words or the fact i chose to say it?
just mention the words "my mother in law" round here and out come the stories of how they know best and how us mums cant get anything right, are you offended by that too? because we just laugh most of that off....
i guess no one is challenging me because your reading something into this that isnt there, if you want to call me antagonistic then so be it, trust me ive been called worse... but i will fight the corner of anyone who is being bullied and *I* believe those articles are merely there to scare new mums into struggling along with breastfeeding because they have been told theres no other choice.
i suggest you calm down and read the last few pages again properly and you will see that you totally got the wrong end of the stick,
im not even going to pretend i understand your last paragraph... but if BFing was such hell... then why put yourself through it?
sorry but it sounds like you might need some help - but no doubt in suggesting that you will now add patronising to the list of names to call me :rolleyes:0 -

thats terrible!
i dont know where some people get the nerve from!0 -
Wasn't planning on mentioning the breastfeeding as don't want things to flare up again but just wanted to note that while I don't actually care how other people feed their babies and have never, ever told anyone who formula feeds that they should have breastfed, I have come across a lot of disapproval from people about "still" breastfeeding Tom and this started once he reached about four or five months and a lot of people I know seemed to think this was too old and I should have "stopped all that business" by now. A few people also said that it was "disgusting" and one even said it was "unnatural"
The vast majority of these people either hadn't had children of their own or hadn't even tried breastfeeding.
When it comes to having children there is always someone who thinks they are doing a better job than you are, or knows more about how to bring up babies than you do and if you listen to them it will dent your self-esteem. I just tune people like that out! When we had DD, my brother-in-law and his girlfriend had a baby at the same time and if DD could walk, their baby could run; if DD could say one word, their baby could say two; if DD could kick a ball their baby could score the winning goal in the FA cup and so on. It annoyed OH but I just think it shows their insecurity.
In the long run, I'm not the most perfect parent in the world, not by a long shot, and neither is OH, but what we do works for our family and that's all I really care about anyway.0
